Some may place no importance on what Saudi Arabia does with their oil. Some may place no importance on what Venezuela or Russia does with their oil. But I think it’s time for the US to take very seriously what we do with our oil.

It's been time to get serious about shifting away from fossil fuels for decades. We should have gone full space race on it. We'd already be there, our companies selling it to the rest of the world. It could've more than made up the investment. But unfortunately, Democrats listened too closely to the science around the time the GOP's power-for-power's-sake mentality was getting into properly high gear.

The Gingrich push for a permanent Republican majority. Impeaching a president for lying about a blowjob, as opposed to what impeachment is meant for: corruption in attaining or exercising office. Soon to be followed by the embarrassment of Iraq/Afghanistan. Soon to be followed by the first black President and the bulk of the right finally going all-in on hate. Then they somehow managed to dial it from 11 to 12 with Trump.

Serious renewable, "green", or even just generally non-fossil never had a chance to get where it needed to be. So here we are, not the lead supplier of the necessary gear in the world, and dealing with looming inflation increases on top of the COVID demand/supply chain disasters thanks to having to respond meaningfully to the invasion of Ukraine.

The article doesn't say much. Seems to be just a brief summary of this:

Green energy, as it has been promoted, is a pipe dream. The cost is scary to the average citizen. The sacrifice necessary unrealistic. Programs like the Green New Deal, and it’s “authoress” have done more to set back green legislation than any Republicans. It may be the future but the promotion of it has been miserably managed.

Oil is still big business because it’s a proven commodity. Our economy is partially founded and funded by oil. There needs to be a reasonable and easily understood plan to convince the average individual that green energy will work for everyone. I think everyone agrees that it’s the right way to go, but no one has been able to sell it so far. There are reasons for that.

When we should be going green, Biden is urging oil companies to pump more, and begging OPEC to pump more oil. How dumb.

The OP article quotes the WSJ article. That article says:
Saudi Arabia is in active talks with Beijing to price some of its oil sales to China in yuan, people familiar with the matter said, a move that would dent the U.S. dollar’s dominance of the global petroleum market and mark another shift by the world’s top crude exporter toward Asia.

Note “some” and “to China.”

I have no idea what you mean by “do with their oil.” We know what they do with their oil. They sell it to whoever wants it.

History will show this is the fault of the American conservatives

Everyone should care what happens to Russia's oil. I wish no countries allowed a single drop of it to be exported.

We should have passed that Green New Deal.
Bipartisan resistance shut it down. Guess try again next decade. And with a president who is begging for more oil to be pumped and burned? Forget about it. just 5 more years of Biden, and then perhaps we can make progress.

Well, that is what the big oil companies are trying to tell you.

Every once in awhile you post something decent.

Well, that is what the big oil companies are trying to tell you.
Well, it’s what is obvious. Have you seen any green legislation passed recently? What’s the percentage of electric vehicles on the road? That’s just one metric.

That sounds like a massive straw man to me.

Do you know what kind of emerging technologies are out there? I noticed your claim is light on actual support

Do you watch television? It seems that every other commercial is for a new EV.

It’s truly amazing that not one Republican can run on a non-petrol energy policy. The next decade is too late. Hell, its already too late.

That completely avoids the points in what you responded to.

Only in the sense that you successfully hit "reply", then "post"
I don’t agree with your take. I gave you mine. That’s all you get. If you’re looking for a yes man, call Joe Biden.

When Democrat presidents call for more global oil pumping, and not less, there aren't really many options. Definitely too late.
