He stopped the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline that wouldn't have been finished for several years . so how does that drop supplies and drive up prices so fast ? it hasn't and wouldn't deliver any oil to a refinery for several years , beside almost all that tar sand oil was going to go to the gulf to be transported over seas and would not of helped us hardly at all IF any ( we use tar sand oil for things like WD40 and that NOT GAS )
and as was mentioned in another post right now the oil companies could give a s-t about the American people they are raking in the profits by the truck loads and are just using the latest situation to keep doing it
They have been granted permits up the a-- to drill and have been granted leases on MILLIONS of acres of Federal lands
besides why do the HAVE TO HAVE Federal lands to drill for oil on is that the ONLY place there is oil?
there are hardly any Federal lands in TX and most of the states around TX and isn't there a lot of oil there?
so why all the crying about Federal lands
as I asked is there no oil anywhere else except on Federal lands?

Biden has done everything possible to make US oil hard to get. He keeps losing in court but he has successfully kept oil companies in limbo. He needs to sanction Russian oil, quit begging opec for oil and start letting American oil flow.

and why would they have put money up to lease this land if they think it is going to be unprofitable?

Funny how they expanded like a balloon under Trump pro oil policies. Biden stuck a pin in that balloon and here we are financing Putin’s war and afraid to sanction his oil because gas is already through the roof.

Hate to say it but Musk is right. Until we can transition into more environmentally friendly forms of energy we need to eliminate our dependence (and to the extent possible the world's dependence) on Russian oil. Lets see if Putin can eat oil. The Biden administration needs to adopt policies that make it easier to extract the oil beneath our country. I don't think that there will be much of an increase in carbon emissions if US oil is used rather than Russian oil. This would be a temporary move until we can find a better solution. Let the Russians choke on their oil.

a lot of people on here are comparing the price of oil from when Russia and the Saudi's had their price war and drove the price down so low they were almost giving it away and Trump threatened the Saudi's with taking their Military aid a way if they didn't cut production and RAISE prices.
and the US oil producers shutting down their wells and seeing the price went up so fast and high they are reaping super high profits and haven't been real fast at reopening those wells
