“Apple won't lend a hand at the Republican National Convention, July 18-21 in Cleveland, because of presumptive GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump — or, rather, his seemingly never-ending stream of controversial comments, Politico reported Saturday, citing two sources. But the tech giant is far from the first company to indicate it won't supply sponsorship or funding for the event………..

“……..Among those to signal in recent days that they won't sponsor the convention this year are Wells Fargo & Co., United Parcel Service Inc., Motorola Solutions Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Ford Motor Co., and Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. All of those companies sponsored the previous Republican conclave, in Tampa, Florida, in 2012………..

Bad news for the GOP delegates……..they will now have to buy their own booze and free food……
One wonders how many delegates will join many prominent GOP leaders and bail on the Convention ?

This is great news. Corporate sponsors shouldn't be hosting Conventions on behalf of politicians. It's obvious pay for play. The media trying to sensationalize this actually reveals how crooked our political system is.

Good, now I know who to boycott.

I always thought this was more akin to companies sponsoring sporting events. A chance to get their brand out there during a high profile event. I think most of these companies usually donate services to both conventions because of that.

What will be interesting is if this affect the Democratic convention as well. If a company donates services to both conventions and then one year decides not to donate to one of them because their candidate is so distasteful to their customer base, won't it look like favoritism if they still donate to the other? And if the goal is advertising, that may not be the best way to go. We'll see.

These companies are pulling the plug because they do not want to be associated in any way with Trump............The Democrats do not have Trump-type nominee............so the delegates don't have to worry......

the free booze will be flowing
