Edwards to suspend presidential run due to wife's ill-health

That is terrible news. I was not a fan of him to be president--I'm upset about his wife's health. :(

Despite anyone's opinions of their politics, you have to feel for their family. They have children and it's got to be hard on them... Hopefully, the doctors caught it early and she can have a full recovery...

Yep. I just saw that on MSNBC. Feel free to change the title of the thread since the predictions were wrong.

I don't know what I think about his not suspending the campaign. Maybe she has told him not to.
 
Now I read that the cancer has gotten into the bone.... yeesh! My prayers to the Edwards family...

That's not good news. Such a shame as she seems to be a wonderful person. I hope she can pull through.
 
This is just horrible news to the country as a whole and the Edwards family.

I know very well what its like to live with someone battling bone cancer, because my dad has it in his back and brain. He has the beginning stages of alzheimers and had his prostrate removed last year. A triple whammie.

Some days are tough, real tough. And I would expect that the Edwards family will have those days too. My prayer for Elizabeth is the same one I have for my dad, a full recovery. She is young and you can see that she is a fighter.

My dad has lived a good life as he is 78, but you never want to lose a loved one do you. Its never time.

Elizabeth has two little ones that need her and I pray God gives her time to raise them both. She will be in my prayers.

Oh, doughgirl, I am sorry to hear about your father. I hope he lives to be at least 100.
 
As a politican Edwards is one of the worst of the lot...but he and his wife are human beings besides being a political family. While I despise the politican Edwards, I really hate that his wife's cancer has gotten worse, and pray for her recovery...and for strength for their family and friends as they go through this.
