Early signs of progress in Baghdad crackdown

Aren't you embarassed that you can't celebrate good news without completely ruining it with your hatred?

Still waiting for an aquapub post that doesn't include the words "liberal" or "left"...

Hey pubby, which is it more, does being DP's joke get more tiring than it is depressing? Or is it more depressing that you follow in the footsteps of chesswarsnow, ptsdkid and the like?

Instead of just attacking another member of DP why not address the subject of the thread......

I'm not attacking a member of DP, I'm feeding the trolls. Did you actually expect me to take aquapub seriously?

So be it, my response to the OP is this; Its good news, but stirs no change in my opinions. You don't judge a war by a month's progress, just like you don't draw your conclusions from public opinion.

Have you ever been in a war before?

No I have not, your point?

My point is things don't always go as intended in a war no matter how hard you try.........I don't think we planned on losing 6,000 men on D day in 1944 at the landings on Normandy.........

This is great news for all Americans but not for some of our Bush haters......They may have to give him credit.....Heaven forbid.......

Why would Bush get credit for this? I mean its been four years, God knows how many deaths and it probably wasnt even his idea!

Well you haters blame him for everything that goes wrong so it seems its only right as the commander in chief you should give him credit if something goes right but I know you won't so I don't know why I bother.......Your hate for him is to strong.........Its unhealthy.......

Did you just imply that we had a plan?

Good news.

I hope that this is in fact a result of our security increase and not just a less productive time for insurgents. Another month or two of time will tell.

Ultimately, who is accountable when things go wrong? Does the buck not stop with him? He is an elected leader and therefore a servant of the citizens of this country. As taxpaying Americans we have every right to complain and criticize. I personally don't hate the man as I don't know him. I hate his Iraq policy and I think that the veil of secrecy that his Administration hides behind is completely disgusting. The problem is that neo-conservatives, such as yourself, have a bad habit of oversimplifying things and seeing things in only black or white. So, the fact that people don't support the war, yet support the troops automatically translates to you that they don't support the troops and are on the side of the enemy. It's severely limited thinking, which is never a good thing.

I dont hate Bush NP. Why should I? He's not my President. I just see the guy with my own eyes.
I think the only original decision, by himself, he thought of was invading Iraq. After that I think Rumsfeld did alot of damage and a few others. The surge idea is actually a great idea and will probably work as long as the troop numbers can be sustained, and Ive said so before.
However, I think its an idea learned the hardway by the Army generals and therefore has little to do with Bush.

I dont tend to give Bush much credit simply because he's a terrible speaker, a terrible debater, despite his very priveldged upbringing and has had a pretty poor record as President.

Oh I dont know, how about the Generals and the troops for getting the President out of a bad situation?

Its happened often enough in Britain, Maggie Thatcher owes her premiership to Britain having the world's best soldiers.

Thanks for a clear, specific answer.
