In case anybody forgot, this is the same nation Bush wanted to give control of our ports to, which brings me to this question: Since Dubai has evil dictators, hates democracy, and loves slavery, I am waiting to hear when we are going to invade them. Oops, thats right. They are an ally, just as Saddam once was. However, if they dont continue to work with us on our terms, I am sure we can conclude that they are making nuclear weapons, and send in the military to do the rest.

Just like Saudi Arabia - completely suppressive of women yet oh right, they supply us our oil.

Dubai is one of the most liberal, cosmopolitan countries in the Middle East. Dubai is the only beacon of commerce in the Arab world and should be an example to all of its neighbors. And you want to invade them (or, if you were being facetious, compare them to Saddam Hussein)?

Of course, I was being facetious. But their leaders do engage in slavery, and we did try to give them control of our ports. :)

The royals are all batshite crazy and that will become immediately evident once the oil runs out. That said you will always have people begging to send their kids to neverland ranch.

Are they breaking UN resolutions left and right? Perversion is everywhere.

Let's assume for the sake of arguement one of their princes practiced slavery. What does that have to do with terrorism? They are experts are managing ports and manage ports all over the world. If it was found they were perpetrators in a terrorist attack they would lose hundreds of billions and their economy would virtually collapse.

My statement was made in the context that, once it was determined that WMDs never existed in Iraq, the mission magically changed to freeing people from an evil dictator. Actually, I could have used a better example than Dubai, such as our ally Khazakhstan, whose leaders boil their political opponents alive.

I guess some of us are adept at adapting. :rofl

Well, their company deserved to have control of our ports. They were the most cost-efficient option, and if their reputation in other ports is any guide, they do an excellent job.

As for their leaders engaging in slavery, this seems to me to be a personal evil, rather than the policy of the government. A Sally Hemmings kind of thing, if you will.

So you would support Bush if he had slaves huh?

It's not like there are two choices where you support absolutely on one hand and go to war on the other.

If you want to talk about moral issues we might as well take a look at china but I for one don't support waking the sleeping dragon!

Talk to your buddy Bush on that one, because "YOU ARE EITHER WITH US OR AGAINST US" according to him. There are only TWO CHOICES int he Bush philosphy. So Choose.

I'm sure that wasn't a broad sweeping statement to be applied across the board insinuating that each and every situation that could possibly be visited upon humanity must be seen in black and white. Clearly there must have been some context for the setting of that statement and since you haven't provided it I can't reply to it.

That said Bush isn't my buddy but I bet he would be fun at a party. Entertaining old guy who apparently curses freely. What's not to like? . :rofl

What? I don't even support him now. Learn to read.
