The latest to doubt that Bush's troops surge will work? The authors of the plan.

On a side note: Yet another of Bush's Neocon "noble lies" - This time claiming, in order to win support for the harebrained scheme, that the surge would consist of 21,000 troops, when the number is actually about 40,000 - Double, and also double the cost, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

That's better. Now, double THAT and we'll have an excellent plan.

In spite of all the experts, generals, and even authors of the Bush plan, who say the exact opposite?

Absolutely. The Iraq war should have only taken a few minutes.

Absolutely. The Iraq war should have only taken a few minutes.

It did only take a few minutes, figuratively speaking. Now the insurgency. This is the same thing the Soviets ran into in Afghanistan, and they had more than 500,000 troops there. Quick victory, then the grinding away at the troops occupying the area. Bush's father knew what was in store, which was why he pulled back after kicking Saddam's butt.

The Soviets were not the only ones who learned the hard way. The British did too, and now we are about to learn the same lesson.
