I worked my ass off to get mine, how about you try working to get yours.

If you have no legs, you can get disability. If you're married, we'll pay your wife to take care of you.

47% of Americans get help. Damn, I'm one of the 52% that has to make his own way.

If you live in America, just go to the ER. They'll take as good care of you as they will me except I'll pay my portion and you won't.

If you get sick, we'll keep you alive even if you're in a coma.

Sounds to me like someone needs a whambulance.

As long as it is legal, what business is it of yours how someone else got their money?

I might point out that those benefits you named were enabled by Democrats. That might be the reason you've lost the popular vote in five of the last six presidential elections.

It's the best he and other liberals can do.

After 4.5 years of miseeable failure from their President, they need a excuse.

So they invent this narrative of the "evil greedy rich guy", and use that as a diversion.

It's pretty entertaining actually.

Because the only people impressed with that rhetoric are easilly manipulated, prone to plattitudes and bumper sticker slogans.

They actually beleive nonsense like the crap he just posted.

You know Obama voters.

So Campbell starts these insipid and idiotic threads where he exposes his generic ignorance and then preaches to the choir.

I must be the luckiest guy in the world. When I was 59 I retired after 41 years with the same company. I moved to a lake front brick house with 220 ft. lake frontage. Now I've been retired for twenty years and the value of my property has tripled. I'm married to a woman nearly sixteen years younger than me and we continue to love one another. I have three kids, eight grandkids and two great grand kids. It just breaks my heart when I think of those who spend their days looking at porn when they are on the payroll. They must be Republicans.

You're a decent fiction writer, I'll give you that.

You sound rich. Cut me a check for 40% of what you're worth.

...and in accordance with the OP. The "rich" do not want to take care of you, because you don't deserve it.

I'm not rich.....far from it. I worked in a uranium factory in Oak Ridge for 41 years. I worked in the actual process for about ten years and the rest of the time in their data processing center with large main frame computing systems. My wife worked in the same plants for the same company and between to two of us we had an accumulated total of 84 years company service. We both set up 401K accounts in the mid 1980's and saved a tidy sum over the years. Rich we're not. Very comfortable we are.

You folks never get it. I've posted no less than a dozen times at this board that I was a Republican for thirty years from Eisenhower till half way through Reagan's eight years. Then I went twenty years and didn't even vote. I was a Republican when they believed in balanced budgets, small government and individual liberty. When Reagan fired PATCO and slashed tax rates for the rich, continued to spend at an even increased rate I realized what a change he was starting. I'll never vote for another one of the selfish son-of-a-bitches if I live to 100. This country wouldn't even have a debt if not for Reagan and the Bushes. Corporations and tax cuts for the wealthy.....about the only thing they stand for now. I don't vote Democrat.....I vote against Republicans.

only 30% of Forbes top 400 Inherited their wealth

I have lost the link for it now, but most of our millionaire plus people are first generation wealthy and most of the top lose their fortunes within 3 generations, so there is a lot of churning. Of course, someone who thinks the rich won't take care of them implicitly need the government to take care of them as the concept of people taking care of themselves is apparently beyond their level of comprehension.

I agree with your premise with one caveat. All over the southern states which are solid Republican people who live in trailer camps and don't have an extra penny to their names can be depended on for three things. 1: Their Guns 2: Bible Thumping 3: Voting Republican, not necessarily in that order.
When Romney was taped during his infamous 47 percent remark for those paying no income taxes, he was denigrating the sacred base of the modern GOP: the Deep South. I just don't understand why they can't see what goes on. Maybe they don't care.

this OP is bait, but these two slogans are correct. i have heard an elderly person say "i hope that i go quickly so that i can leave my kids something." in America, you are subject to a one hundred percent death tax if you linger, and it is levied by the health care industry.

conservativism ,god ,religions

they are always used to justify the wild capitalism ,the racism ,the imperialism although god in holy books condemns cruelty ,pawnbroking ,injustice etc..

libertarianism serves for this too

Over 500 companies and a million doctors make profits from sick people and we still rank 17th in general health and longevity.

Don't worry too much about leaving your stuff to your kids:

Under federal estate tax law for 2011 and 2012, most of the wealthiest 1% of American households are not subject to estate tax liability. This is because of the large estate tax exemption, presently at $5.12 million per spouse. This means that with nominal planning households worth less than $10.24 million could avoid the estate tax.

Like every other tax law ever written there are loopholes which are the specialty of fancy lawyers and tax accountants. None of the rich pay the line on their income. Taxable year 2011 Romney paid about 1% per million on his declared income....a rate of about 14%. My wife and I combined declared earnings of less than $100,000 and we paid at just about the same rate.

The amount of taxes and the percent of their income is a farce. A millionaire doesn't even notice payroll tax, gasoline tax, sales tax, excise taxes etc. while it digs deeply into ordinary working people's pockets. Look at your water bill, electric bill, cable bill, state license and registration, etc. The so called sin taxes are directed to ordinary folks. There are small taxes and fees levied on everything an ordinary worker earns and every bill he/she pays.

you're preaching to the choir. i'm for single payer. i find it to be ridiculous that we can go into debt to facilitate historically low tax rates and be pro-bono world police at the same time, but somehow we can't afford to provide health care for citizens. i think that we need to take a serious look at our national priorities.

progressivism, godlessness, and guns

always used to justify the wholesale slaughter of other human beings, the vast human rights denials ,and the basic moral decay of a people.

socialism serves for this too.

So basically, you (allegedly) worked at a no-education, dime-a-dozen manual labor job your whole life. Now you're jealous that so many educated people walked right over you and got better jobs, and live better lives than you. Sounds like wealth-envy to me. Go cry in a jar, so us educated folks have something to drink.

to a liberal, that means the other 70% stole their wealth;)

Pretty much true for 30 years all the money has flown in droves to the top or are you going to dispute facts. The whole redistribute wealth by the right is largely laughable. It is a myth considering trickle down economics by ya'lls golden boy. Plain and simple it was a rouse and many people (idiot conservatives) fell hook line and sinker for it!

for you to say it's "pretty much true" tell me how little of a grasp on reality you have.

I don't know about the "right", but my version of wealth redistribution is convincing you to voluntarily part with your money in return for a service or product that I offer....I then voluntarily redistribute it being giving it to others who offer me products or service.

it's a novel idea...it'll be big someday
