Don't kid yourself — Donald Trump can win

…”Minnesota congressman Keith Ellison threw an entire ABC News roundtable for a loop with just two lines: "People terrified of the possibility of President Trump better vote, better get active, better get involved," he said. "Because this man has got some momentum, and we'd better be ready for the fact that he might be leading the Republican ticket…………..The laughter erupted before he could finish his prediction………”

… it is that in 2016, in all likelihood, we will have Hillary Clinton vs. Donald Trump facing off in this year's presidential contest — and Clinton is the No. 1 reason that Trump could win………

Trump has been underestimated from day one and has a better chance of becoming President than most think possible…….

HRC is now what one could call “exciting” and has yet given a good reason for why she wants to be President………..”I am the best qualified” just does not cut it……
Trump can lie, flip flop, and create fictional HRC scandals which will energize rather than turn off his base……..

And in some perverse way, I think those who support him deserve to find out first-hand what Trump has in store for them………….
And IMHO …………
Boy oh Boy are they going to be surprised

I think that Trump will win. Clinton is as flawed a candidate as the left could possibly have thrown out there. Well a self avowed socialist might be farther but I digress. Trump is bringing out the voters. He's building support. People want to make America great again. It resonates. There are people voting for Trump... not just against Hillary. If he can turn New York red, Clinton is toast.

From the day this idiot threw his wig into the ring, I knew he was going to win

history has demonstrated over and over that in order to succeed the times must be right for the person

and the country is socially and politically and mentally and emotionally right for King Donald

he is an opportunist and he saw that the time was right

he is going to win

This whole election to me is just weird. On the one side you have a woman that is just not a people person and is in fact one of those people you would probably avoid being anywhere near in real life. On the other side you have Trump, an arrogant ass that hasn't said one thing he truly believes yet. A person that takes away all the smoke and mirrors of politics and just makes it clear to everyone that he will do whatever he wants and say whatever he pleases. Still, this isn't that much different than what we have now.

it is a mystery how we have arrived at this type of mess

my country is the same...we vote people out not in and we tend to vote for those we feel will do the least harm

it just is, and that is sad

If we use history as our judge........ a Trump-like personality will win........the strong man who rides in on his white horse to save the poor frightened masses.......

yes, he is smart, he knows people, he is an orator...he doesn't follow a script because he has an intuitive understanding of people, he knows how to read what people think they want, what they think they need and then he tells them they are right and he will cooperate

he is quite bright

it might be what the country needs in order to balance itself I don't know

He created a lot of jobs in New York. He's a New York native son. Hillary, is a carpetbagger who moved there just to run for Senate.

Umm.. that's your opinion. Having been a New Yorker, and having friends still there, we don't ALL share your opinion about Trump...at least when compared to Hillary Clinton.

We recognize he is a blowhard, bigger than life personality, always seeking the limelight because that's what helps him sell.

This time he is really trying to sell himself. If he is elected I don't see him doing much of anything worth worrying about. He just doesn't have the votes in Congress to successfully Eff anything up.

I can't say I feel the same about Mrs. Clinton.

I think Hillary Clinton will win...and win big.

But anyone who supposes Donald Trump has no chance of winning...is a fool.

I hope everyone realizes this.

He is assuredly will get the upstate vote.........but when in the primary he cannot even win the ED he is resident of..........WHERE ALL THE VOTERS AR REPUBLICANS..........sort of gives one a clue..........

Trump carry NY..........No way......

Maybe, maybe not. It's one thing to oppose a Party candidate when there is still a scrum to see who it will be. It is another thing to allow an opposing Party to win an election once your own Party finally gets behind the final candidate.

I am not saying he will win, I'm saying your certainty is not as certain as you seem to think.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch. Something this campaign should have taught you.

I've been over this dozens of times, looking at the electoral map counts from multiple perspectives and even giving Trump a few States very much in question... and I cannot get Trump to 270.

By most accounts and predictions messing with this it is not close, even when considering 3rd party impacts on the popular votes in key States.

Six months ago, everyone said that Trump couldn't win the nomination. Hillary R Clinton could not win in 2008 against a first term Senator that most people had never heard of... Trump has name recognition for days.

The you have nothing to worry about.

Don't vote, the outcome is already assured. ;)

Then put up a prediction map where Trump obtains 270, give us something to evaluate.

I've waffled on this can Trump win question for a while now and I think I've come down on the side that says no, he can't. My primary reason for this is that the past two Republican Presidential candidates, McCain and Romney, were far superior Presidential material and yet the religious/social right couldn't bring themselves to come out to the polls in sufficient numbers to defeat President Obama.

The first time, with McCain, one could argue that many voted for the history of the first black President, but the second time, with Obama's disastrous first term and the ACA fresh in people's minds, sufficient numbers of the Republican base, the religious/social right, sat on their hands at home preferring to let President Obama win reelection to letting a Mormon with wavering credentials on abortion, gay marriage, and healthcare gain the White House with their help.

This time around, I can't see them rushing to the polls in sufficient numbers to support let alone elect a faux conservative who disrespects women, is vulgar, is crude, and changes his positions on issues of importance to them as often as he changes brides.

Unless Trump can gain sufficient crossover support to change the dynamics in places like New York and California, to make up for the losses he will suffer in some other States, I don't see him winning the electoral college vote even if he's very close on the popular vote. And that is a very sad scenario to contemplate.

Agree. This election cycle has certainly been historically unique.

The two most widely dislikable candidates to throw their hats in the ring are (presumably) going to be their party's nominee for President.

Presently Trump is the most dislikable of the two. Which favors Hillary. But over the next 6 months things could change. They will both still suck, but Hillary could find a way to become less likable than she already is. And give the edge back to The Donald. (The possibility of and Indictment comes to mind. Or just her annoying speeches could be enough)

Oy vey. What a crazy time/country we live in.

Nope. Sit back and watch. I'm sure after Trumps recent victories, you are not in doubt that there is a possibility that he can win. I mean, come on against Hillary? Like I said, she couldn't even beat a first term Senator that no one had ever heard of...

Trump proves that all you need is charisma, rhetoric and money to get a real shot at the Presidency, and nothing else. He has no real platform and is clearly making it up as he goes along.

The thing is, America is ripe for this kind of candidate. People are so polarized and easily stoked into emotional fervor that it was only a matter of time before a sociopathic narcissist took a shot at being POTUS. Our sense of reason and logic, as a nation, is really in jeopardy if this is any indication.

He's a total RINO if you look at his policy opinions even just a few years ago, but people will vote for him because he's a good **** talker.

The others spent more money than he has...
