We see the arguments from Trump supporters now. "It's all politics." "Democrats would do exactly what we're doing now!" (nice trick, by the way, blaming Democrats for your own hypocrisy)

And so on and so forth. We see you playing Twister with yourselves, trying your best to convince yourselves that you aren't morally backward.

Kindly remember your justifications when Biden and the Democratic Senate nuke the legislative filibuster, pack the Court, and reverse decades of poor conservative decisions--Citizens United, voting rights, Second Amendment.

Prepare for a fundamentally transformed America.

I don't know how that translates into hill-people-speak, but I think the gist of it is: Buy your guns now, and be very afraid.

If you look at polls regarding abortion, very few people want abortion outlawed. Even most Republicans don't want to outlaw abortion.

And now everybody wants to keep the provisions of Obamacare. Universal healthcare is popular.

Republicans are just digging their own grave. When Texas turns blue and a new generation emerges, conservatism will be a think of the past. And if some old theocrats on the court get in the way, we'll pack the court and make them irrelevant.

There is a Civil War. But again, only one side has moral authority and the support of modern industry behind it. The South with its racism and backward views will lose again.

If I may, Yakshi, are you claiming that you are ready and prepared to fight and die in a civil war?

There won't quite be as extensive a fundamental shift. Biden won't endorse packing the court, things will remain relatively constant. If the Dems can take the Senate and maintain the House, they will push through legitimization of their desire, perhaps there would be some change, but not as drastic as you've laid out here.

Really? There is a Civil War? How many of your brothers, sisters, sons or daughters have died or lost their limbs in the combat? How many people do you know are living right now in refugee camps because their homes are bombed-out craters?

I really fail to see any difference. The current republican stance is very clearly "do anything within your power to stack the courts." As long as the democrats don't break any laws or anything I fail to see how expanding the court is any further out of bounds than sitting on a nomination for almost a year for no reason.

For the same reason, I think democrats are crazy if they don't get rid of the filibuster in the senate if they gain control.

The only GOP policy that they are even remotely interested in passing is either cutting existing programs or cutting taxes, all of which they can do to a large extent with 50 votes using reconciliation. If the democrats want to pass any kind of meaningful legislation that actually helps people, it requires 60 votes. You might as well cut it down to 50, pass quality and meaningful legislation and then when the GOP tries to gut it (as they are already doing) fight them tooth and nail and force them to show people that the GOP wants to take away your healthcare etc. as they did with Obamacare.

Conservatives are more than free to rebel and have their brains blown out. I don't mind.

Fighting tyranny with more tyranny what could possibly go wrong

It really is something isn't it? "Democrats have not done this thing, but they would, so we get to".

It's simply isn't tyranny. They're a series of Constitutional choices.

"Tyranny" is almost as overused as "deep state" or "indoctrination" or "socialist" or "Obama was born in Kenya," don't you think?

It fulfills their inner need to blame us for everything, so why let them remain consistent about at least that one thing, right?

Nobody in America wants a civil war except a few nut bags. If you threaten a civil war and intend to kill other Americans, the majority of Americans are not interested in that. What's more likely going to happen is that you will be a mass murderer.

Being a series of constitutional choices does not mean it cant also by tyranny.

Misused is more appropriate than overused like how "racist" is misused a lot.

It just bores me when Americans, arguably the most entitled people on the planet, complain about tyranny.

Nobody's going to pack the court. It just won't happen.

Of course, that's not to say that Nancy won't keep trying to establish her own version of tyranny.

I agree your thread about Tyranny is kind of boring and simply a regurgitation of other threads that ate already dedicated to the topic.

Whether you want it to happen or not simply doesn't matter.

It either will happen, or it won't. With a Democratic president and Senate, there is literally nothing that Republicans can do to stop it.

Literally nothing.

Of course, that's not what I was talking about. I was talking about entitled Americans exaggerating and whining about trivial things in an attempt to paint themselves as victims, when really they're living better lives than the vast majority of the planet.

But you do what you're going to do. You're entitled.

Keep acting like spoiled babies and you won't have enough Senators to clean the trash cans.

It's not about what I want to happen. In fact, I made no mention of what I want to happen.

I made a prediction.

The Senators will be fulfilling the will of the people. There is no practical or realistic way for you to achieve your goal.

Democrats will do what is the most advantageous for the interest of their party's supporters. These actions will achieve that goal. And these actions will also remove the negative impact of future conservative decisions in the Supreme Court.

It won't happen all at once. But really, given a Democratic president and Congress, there's nothing Republicans can do to stop it.

It's not about what I want to happen. In fact, I made no mention of what I want to happen.

I made a prediction.

To which I give the exact same response that I gave the first time around.

All of this is the result of Trump. When you originally voted for Trump, you were voting for an end result that will most likely look like what I just described.

You voted for it.

Congrats on your victory.
