Donald Trump was an FBI informant on convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein, a senior Republican has claimed.

Mike Johnson also told CNN that Trump thought what Epstein did was a “terrible, unspeakable evil” and that the US president had been “misrepresented” throughout the controversy over the files during his second term.

Mr Johnson’s comments come after months of speculation regarding a “client list” that Attorney General Pam Bondi said in February was sitting on her desk.

The Wall Street Journal later reported that Ms Bondi had informed Mr Trump that his name had appeared several times on the list, which is understood to have included names of influential figures associated with the sex offender.

I thought this was an exceptionally odd thing for Speaker Johnson to say.

More than odd totally bizarre given Trump was President when Epstein was arrested in 2019. The President acting as an FBI informant? It's also bizarre he would admit that Trump knew what Epstein was up to when Trump has said all along he was unaware. I think this was a clumsy attempt to explain why Trump's name is in the file. I think that Trump and Trumpers better stop trying to pin this on Dems.....the GOP is doing a fine job of keeping it alive.
 
I had said yesterday I thought he was saying Epstein was an FBI informant, because there is some evidence this could be true. But so many are convinced that Johnson meant Trump that I'll have to concede that is what he meant.

Imagine being both Agent Krasnov and an FBI informant!
 
Yeah I felt the same way. Like who is he specifically saying was the informant? It really isn’t clear. Suppose that happens when you make shit up as you go.

Trump has chosen not to speak publicly about what would have been a potentially heroic act, out of modesty.

It's just the sort of humble fraud and sexual offender that he is.
 
He had to rape minors to keep his cover protected. It's all good in the long run.

I sometimes wonder if there is a single person on the planet that looks up to Speaker Johnson.

I bet you his own children think he's a pathetic, Trump-ball-washing loser.

Being Speaker must come with awesome perks. I don't think there is any amount of money in the world that would convince me to act like Johnson is acting. The sucking up. The obsequiousness. It makes me want to vomit. He manages the House and he's still a loser. What use is all that power?
 
Is Johnson even reading the Bible he's carrying around all the time? There is so much about people like Trump in there and it's never very good.
 
Evangelical Pixie Mike Johnson is literally the kind of person that is driving tons of people away from the church.

He has no problem lying and he has no problem supporting the worst of humanity.
 
Wonder if Mr. Johnson would provide us with what year Trump became an FBI informant.
For some reason I am not buying that line till there is evidence to back up that statement
