Really, it's not clear on what the committee thinks he has to ad if their purpose was really to investigate the incident on Jan 6. He wasn't there, didn't work for the government, and had no role in security at the capitol.

WASHINGTON — The oldest son of former President Donald Trump has met with the congressional committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, according to two people familiar with the matter.


The House committee has also released text messages from Jan. 6 in which Trump Jr. pleaded with the White House to get his father to forcefully condemn the riot.


“We need an Oval address. He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand,” Trump Jr. wrote to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.

An interesting turn of phrase is "It has gone too far and gotten out of hand." because the logical interpretation of that phrase is that there WAS something planned and deliberate being staged by Messrs Trump & Co. but that it had gotten away from their direct control.

Actually what it does confirm (albeit indirectly) is that Messrs Trump & Co. HAD instigated an attempt to overturn the lawfully conducted election but that they had lost control of the effort.

The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol attack is expected to meet with Donald Trump Jr. in the coming days, sources familiar with the matter tell ABC News.

Trump Jr.'s appearance is voluntary and comes after the committee invited him to speak with their investigators, sources told ABC News. The panel has not subpoenaed him.




As ABC News has previously reported, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., the vice chair of the panel, quoted extensively from text messages sent to Meadows during the riot from Fox News hosts, GOP lawmakers and Donald Trump Jr.

Confirmation did come from DJT's loyal son who was ginning up the mob as well. Check. Jr freaked out and wanted daddy to call them off in a convincing manner because, as it stood, DJT didn't look presidential.

It's also my belief that Trump & Sons were always on the same page to commit their dastardly deeds while deceiving the public in a convincing manner. Daddy wannabe dictator was blowing their plan that afternoon of 1/6/21.

Neither one of us knows exactly what Jr stated to the 1/6 Committee, but this is what the committee has in their hands.

"He's got to condemn [the riot] ASAP," Trump Jr. told Meadows in a text message, according to Cheney, saying that Trump's tweet about Capitol Police "is not enough."

"I'm pushing it hard," Meadows replied. "I agree."

"We need an Oval Office address," Trump Jr. said in a follow-up message. "He has to lead now. It has gone too far and gotten out of hand."

FOr the first time in American history. 235+ years, the Speaker of House denied the minority the right to choose their representatives for a committee. Unprecedented. Her Partisan Circus is a joke with zero credibility because of her action. No one but partisan loons are taking it seriously.
 
The Committee will need a remedial English interpreter for Jr.
