Good old MSNBC. Of course they don’t mention that DC’s violent crime rate is four times the national average. Wonder if they’re going to cover the guy who was shot and killed less than a mile from the White House yesterday - marking the 100th homicide so far this year in DC. Or that 23 arrests were made for homicide, gun offenses, drug possession with intent to distribute, evasion, lewd acts, stalking, driving under the influence, reckless driving, etc on the first night of federalization.
 

Hey there were 112 at this time last year, so obviously a decrease is a win.
 
Its performance artistry for the base. It does not take much to entertain them.
 
Forget it, this is Trump's overreaction to a single event where the statistics suggests crime in DC is down and has been on the downward trend for several years now.

Distraction... that is all this is about.

But, MAGAs will eat it up.
 
To add to my post above, I don't think the federal government needs to intervene but goodness, who wants to live in a city with that many homicides? My city had 19 last year and I thought that was crazy and to downplay the increasing juvenile crime doesn't help them or our communities.
 
DC residents, largely, will applaud this. They'd love to be able to walk their streets again and not fear for their lives.

But, it's a Trump administration, so the left will oppose it. This opposition will be another gift to the GOP, just like the opposition of deportations and the opposition of only women in women's sports.
 
Not wanting active military patrolling the streets of your neighborhood is entirely reasonable. Last I checked, that was a job for police.
 
This wasn't violent or deadly enough for the traitor coup inciter to call the National Guard?.......scum, always was, always will be. Crime and violence are only praised when done by him and his brainwashed homegrown terrorist cultist seditionists.


 
Unless he's planning to keep them there permanently, I don't see how a few hundred national guardsmen on the streets of DC is going to change anything. Seems more like political showmanship than anything else.
 
There are so many ways for the Administration to help DC law enforcement get crime under control. Like most things the idea isn't bad but execution is atrocious. No plan, no discussions, no coordination just throw armed soldiers on the streets and see how it goes. I can tell you as a tourist or a resident armed soldiers on the streets would not make me feel comfortable at all.

It should be but that hasn't been going very well. It's a very dangerous city with a high homicide rate.

And is it normal for the president to deploy the national guard to American cities solely because of a higher than average homicide rate? I don't think so. When was the last time a president did something like that?

This is such obvious theater, his usual theater, usual props.

We are now required to always applaud dear leader using our military as props.

If one doesn’t swoon hard enough over our military being used as props and/or sees it for the political theater that is is, ( and/or honest enough to admit it ) cult45/47 might be forced to say they just hate our exalted dear leader, hate law and order and love crime. (Oh no - gasp - horror )

The declining crime rate is being ignored now by cult45/47, stats called fake/hoax. All intentional.

However in about 30 days or so when the declining crime rate trend simply continues, ( and/or the fact crime rates tend to fall more after summer ) dear leader and cult45/47 will cite those same declining crime rate stats as completely credible, and as if it’s all brand spanking new.

And the final act in this latest political theater will be dear leader taking and given all the credit for it, with cult45/47 slurping, swooning and drooling.

Wash…rinse..repeat.

He pardoned the batch of criminals involved in Jan 6th.

Let's not pretend the felon cares about crime.

It is astounding how easily they swallow the Kool Aid and never apply independent thought. How come he just woke up to the problems? Why was there no consultation with DC officials who I am sure would welcome the help with some proper planning and coordination? But no , he knees jerks, blatantly lies about the situation and deploys his private army to give the base a shiny object that deflects from the economy. Too bad he didn't see fit to do that Jan 6th. Apparently a car jacking of a former Doge employee is much more serious that a mob attacking Congress while in session!!!

So your solution is what? Permanent military presence in all places deemed too dangerous? Is the cause of crime the lack of military force present in the neighborhoods?
