Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (CNN)As stage exits go Donald Trump's departure was something of a whimper, the US President leaving the top table of global G20 leaders to play golf.
Trump has been out of kilter with the global mood since he first took office preaching his "America first, fair, not free trade" brand of nationalist isolationist hubris.
Now, as his time in office draws to a close, despite his refusal to publicly accept the reality of the US election results, the combined unspoken message from the world's leaders is: don't let the door hit you on the way out.
The virtual summit for leaders of the world's richest nations is being hosted by Saudi Arabia. Its stated aim is to pull countries together to combat Covid-19, accelerate testing, treatment and vaccines for all, while helping poor nations cope with the pandemic's economic impact.
Evidence of the shifting attitude toward the outgoing US administration came from the lips of Saudi's Minister of Investment, Khalid al-Falih. "When the world needed leadership [to combat Covid-19] there was none," he said. The G20 had stepped up because some nations "turned inwards towards nationalism." Al-Falih didn't mention Trump by name. He didn't need to; his audience understood.

Now that the World is breathing a sigh of relief my question is can the U.S. ever regain what it has lost? Will we ever be "the shining city on the hill" again or has the one term mistake blown it forever? I believe that we can in time make the world believe that Mr. One and done was not our fault and did not represent our values.

Many Americans and international friends will miss the Honorable Donald J. Trump.

I will especially miss him because he was the only high-ranking American leader who refused to kowtow to BLM.

I will miss him because he was so courageous: The Dems threw everything at him and he continued to stand tall & straight against the most outrageous barrage of lies and deceit and plots.

But FATE cursed our nation with COVID-19 and thus the Dems had the perfect excuse to throw the election into chaos by insisting on mail-in-ballots.

Goodbye, sir. You will be missed, as will be evident with every passing year.

Bless you and your family.

This is not news, but an opinion piece.
Just because the one term mistake playing golf instead of doing his job is nothing surprising does not mean it is not news. Sadly he still represents America on the world stage.

Stupidity is often confused with "courage". Apparently most of America was not confused about him. We keep most Presidents for 2 terms.

Lol. Hope you had the kneepads on.

Not clear on what you are talking about. But this is not a news article. It is an opinion piece.

Again Mr. One and done golfing instead of doing his job may be commonplace but it is still news. We will not consider that normal no matter how many times he does it. Is it YOUR opinion that it is not news because it is always how the one term mistake behaves?

Not my opinion. We're getting into definitions. The president 'going golfing' could arguably be news, when it happens. A piece by some person telling us what he thinks about the president golfing, is not.

I stopped reading after " Honorable" Horseshit dude.

While Trump is a safe target for keyboard experts to make themselves hate on, to feel better about themselves, he still is a billionaire, won the presidency, owns lavish hotels and real estate all over the world, and married a runway model. 😊

Screw him he should rot in prison. Good riddance.

In terms of The United States' power and stature on the world stage, I don't think the damage done by the Trump administration will last. A single competent administration can repair it. (Whether the next one will or not we'll find out.)

In terms of the damage to the reputation of democracy as a form of government around the world, that's a much bleaker outlook IMO. How the Republican party has handled itself throughout this administration is an international embarrassment and has likely set the cause of democracy worldwide back by at least a decade if not more. And they are clearly not finished wrecking the place in their collective tantrum on their way out.

What makes you think Trump is a billionaire? Trump likely has very little money in the grand scheme of things. Banks own most of those properties as well as Trump.

He is not nor ever has been a billionaire.

He is however the only "businessman" to ever lose a billion dollars.

He has bankrupted not one but four casinos an airline among others.

He'll he can't even get a loan in America.

He owns very few properties, he just pimps out his name.

His wife is a sex worker not a runway model, and she's had so much work done she may as well be a blow up doll...

There is some evidence that only the last one of those items is actually true. ;)

A real leader would have shown his metal by how he dealt with covid, not been defeated by it. A real leader would have inspired Americans to rise to the challenge together, not divide us against each other.

Your sad sack boot licking aside, your David Coresh with a comb over is a disaster to this country. He clearly gives a shit about only one American, only one obese clown of a demogogue.

Now, wash the taste of boot out of your mouth and accept reality.

And all your sources that say the election was stolen from Trump are also opinion pieces. Pretty bad ones at that.
What sources are you talking about? I think you are confused.

Anyway, I'm done. Take care.

You have got to be fricking kidding? This sounds like it came from a cult lieutenant. The Covid-19 curse you speak of didn't have to be a curse if Trump had acted like a leader who cares. He didn't and he's kicked out. He will only be missed by the most uneducated people in this country and a few greedy corporate executives who hate paying taxes.

It was a report on the g20 conference that Trump blew off for a golf game. That is news. Sorry if realty offends you. You should be prepared for much more of it now that Mr. One and done is on his way out.

Dem dirty tricks were effective that's for sure.
