Donald Trump Campaign Appears to Be Paying a Fictional Ad Agency

“In their most recent FEC filing, the Donald Trump campaign revealed that they paid $35,000 to an ad agency that, by all appearances, doesn’t actually exist………

What’s this all about? Fraud?

Or just another one of those clerical error…….

What do you think?

And what were the replies like..........

BTW

I hesitated to post this because I thought I saw the same subject posted..........I looked but did not see your entry......So I posted what is a duplicate.........Sorry

BUT what I wonder is how does this man have the time to think up all these schemes to make him self richer: screw other out of their money and "cook the books".........In that way the man is amazing ..........for avoiding being sent to jail

I included the article on another thread about Trump being a grifter.

No responses. But this is a story, expect Trump to blame it all on Lewendowski.

I read four or five paragraphs and, frankly, I don't get it. A new business. Run out of someone's home. What is so odd about that?
I must not be so determined to dig dirt.

Do you even understand the Citizens United case. What the heck does this have to do with this thread???

Dark money, hiding funds.

So much easier now.

Did you RTFA?

Is not he location which is an issue.......It is the payment for services never rendered to a business that does not exist......... Don't you think this seems a little fishy?

I know for a fact the FBI would investigate the dickens looking for the crook who tried this old scam............My God............How unoriginal and cliché this scam is.........If you're going to be a crook at least be good at it........Wouldn't you agree?

BTW
Having read many of your posts.............I think you are sweet

It refers to the idea of what can happen when money is in politics...............Is that so difficult to understand?

The business was registered. Therefore it existed. Who proved it didn't exist? How does the source know no services were rendered? Tell me exactly what "the scam" is. Seriously. I don't understand.

I've been watching this story develop the last day or so, and despite the partisan source linked here I do think it might be credible & gain some traction!

Here's what I find interesting, though:

"Draper Sterling is the name of the ad agency in AMC’s Mad Men. But Legum is right; Trump’s financial filings show that he made several payments to Draper Sterling in April of this year for web advertising.

Draper Sterling

The address listed for “Draper Sterling” is nothing more than a house in the middle of suburban New Hampshire. Here it is in Google Maps.

Draper Sterling 2

So what going on? Well there are two circumstantial clues. The first is that “Draper Sterling” is located a fifteen-minute drive and a town over from the hometown of former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. The second ..."

"Want some Trump news? The campaign is doing a forensic audit on all of Corey Lewandowski's spending."

Yep.

Now we may be getting somewhere as to the *real* reason Mr. Lewandowski was fired without notice, and immediately escorted from the building and left on the street!

This has the potential to be a pretty big splash!

It refers to the idea of what can happen when money is in politics...............Is that so difficult to understand?

So there would be no money in politics without Citizens United? Obama did not raise hundreds of millions of dollars for his 2008 run? Hillary had a dinner with the Clooneys and folks paid something like $35K per person. Again nothing to do with Citizens United.

Regardless, what does any of this have to do with paying some fictional ad firm? Yes it is difficult do understand how the issues are related.

I agree............this story has legs

Did you RTFA?

What makes "dark money" easier to hide with Citizens United?

I guess you have proven me to be old, I have no idea what RTFA stands for.

I am not here to argue with you about the appropriateness of a metaphor............

Debating would be a lot more satisfying if you had at least a basic understanding of the issues you raise.

You're right Maggie, this story is ambiguous and unless one has owned or worked closely in a consultancy or home business providing a service, they might not appreciate the fluidity and conceptual nature of small business that does not produce a manufactured product.

But the possible can of worms here is: Now Trump's actions (through his campaign apparatus) must provide fiduciary responsibility to those donating to his campaign, so he can't play fast and loose as in his private enterprise.

We'll have to see here as the details come out.

It's RTFM for Ebay! ;)
