Donald Trump blames Democrats for deaths of 2 children at border

Dec. 29 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump Saturday went to Twitter to blame Democrats for the deaths of two Guatemalan children this month while being held in the custody of U.S. officials.

In two Twitter posts, Trump attempted to link immigration policies that he argued are supported by Democrats in putting the children in harm's way.

"Any deaths of children or others at the Border are strictly the fault of the Democrats and their pathetic immigration policies that allow people to make the long trek thinking they can enter our country illegally," Trump wrote. "They can't. If we had a Wall, they wouldn't even try.

"The two children in question were very sick before they were given over to Border Patrol. The father of the young girl said it was not their fault, he hadn't given her water in days. Border Patrol needs the Wall and it will all end. They are working so hard & getting so little credit," Trump continued in a second tweet.

I completely agree. If it weren't for the lack of action on the part of President Clinton (backed by the Democrat majorities in the House and Senate) these terrible deaths wouldn't have occurred. It's time to impeach Hillary Clinton and put her on trial for treason (handing over state secrets to the Russians via eMail) and murder (conspiring to kill an American ambassador in Afrika or someplace).

Trump, and by extension TrumpSpeak, is all over the place which is his biggest weakness as a leader. US border security is a national security issue and attempts to make it an emotional (or even economic) issue are ill advised and very likely to backfire.

The fate of illegal border crossers and the dangers from nature that they face is not a valid reason to build the Great Wall Of Trump or to take any federal government action. The national security issue should be obvious - if 7 and 8 year old children (some unaccompanied?) can freely cross our border, carrying whatever they please with them, then so can those that wish us harm.

The democrats are blaming him, so why not blame them back. If anyone is at fault it is the parents. Assuming they are the parents and didn't just grab an orphan off the street "You need a kid to get asylum. Here take this one. $50 pesos." Has anyone seen any autopsy reports? For all we know they kids were drug mules and the balloons burst. We don't know anything but what the corrupt media feeds us.

When I read that post my immediate reaction was "Didn't his day pass from 'The Home' expire several days ago.".

On reflection that thought was too kind.

The fate of illegal border crossers and the dangers from nature that they face is not a valid reason to build the Great Wall Of Trump or to take any federal government action. The national security issue should be obvious - if 7 and 8 year old children (some unaccompanied?) can freely cross our border, carrying whatever they please with them, then so can those that wish us harm.

Trump and his supporters lost all credibility for making emotive-based arguments when they laughed off families being separated and their children placed in internment camps.

So then another argument is that trump was honest about where the funding for the wall would come from. A big "nope" on that one.

So the last argument left to trump is that Democrats are to blame for the shutdown. A triple fudge "nope" with cherries on top for that one.

So the end conclusion is that trump will get the funding for repairing the existing fence, and that's the end of that.
