DOJ ends defense of "pistol brace rule".

The Justice Department has ended its defense of a Biden Administration directive targeting AR-style pistols with stabilizing braces, affecting around 20 million gun owners. The move follows a lawsuit by the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) and is seen as a win for Second Amendment advocates who argued the rule unjustly penalized lawful owners. An estimated 40 million pistol braces are currently in circulation.
 
Good news, it was a stupid rule that should never have been implemented.

The weird law is the SBR regulation. Everybody knows that "pistol braces" were just a cynical way to get around that already stupid law.

It's left over from FDR they were trying to bend pistols and before doing that they wanted to ban short barrel rifles because you could just cut a barrel off in their rifle and the stocking the hell was sort of crude pistol. Back in those days $200 was enough to make you not do that. But since you can have a pistol I don't understand.
 
And the DemoRats are freaking out about the change of the tax stamp to $0 for SBRs, SBSs, AOWs, and suppressors.

Chris Murphy (RAT - CT) has just proposed raising the NFA tax back up to $200 in 1934 dollars, inflation adjusted. $4709. More proof that DemoRats don’t respect the Constitution.

I would prefer to be able to buy FRTs. Just need the RINOs in the state legislature to get rid of the stupid laws implemented post-Parkland.

You folks argue this stuff all the time and yet the majority of guns used in mass shootings are purchased legally. It's almost like when it comes to a tool of violence that's basically available on demand, you can't really weed out those who wish to use it to slaughter people and those who use it to potentially slaughter someone on the tiny chance they'll have that chance.

Another lie. The majority of “mass shootings” are inner dirty gang violence perpetrated by criminals who are prohibited persons. As such, they cannot legally purchase a gun.
