Does your avatar have a meaning?

Mine is the Angel of Hope. Liked the symbolism. Liked the art work. :)

My current avatar is the scan code that was on my iPod Starbuck app that is used to pay with. If it had money on it you could print it and use it at Starbucks. But I reported it lost or stolen, so I wouldn't try it if I were you.

Mine doesn't really mean anything, other than I am a fan of Vin Diesel movies (well some of them). When I started shaving my head some of my friends said I was going for the "Vin Diesel" look. This amused me so I put a scene from Pitch Black as my avatar.

DAMN! And all this time I thought it was a real picture of YOU! LOL ;)

Mine is a characterization of Patrick Henry, a believer in individual liberty and small government.

Mine is a metaphysical interpretation of a quantum entanglement as viewed through a hole ripped into the 51st page of the third Harry Potter novel placed upside-down on a purple trampoline.

My avatar is a drawing attributed to Friedrich Engels of Max Stirner, the Western thinker whose influence is perhaps the most directly inversely correlated with his importance. Marxism, for instance, is unthinkable without Marx's critique of Stirnerian individualism in The German Ideology; Nietzsche probably read him; Camus certainly did, and wrote a chapter on Stirner in his The Rebel. He's entirely too individualistic for American 'individualists', of course.

But could he skate? Shoot backhand? Block a shot?

Not a poll, more of a survey.
Does your avatar picture have a personal meaning or is it just a pic you like? Mine's a picture my wife took on our honeymoon- I like it for here because it's kind of anonymous in that it's pretty much just a silhouette.
Also, do you think the choice of an avatar says anything about the poster?

Bowler hats are cool.

And when I see an avatar of someone wearing a cowboy hat I definitely get a fabulous vibe.

Mine doesn't mean anything. I was just reading something about A Clockwork Orange earlier on the day I signed up here. I like the book better, though I also like Malcolm McDowell as an actor.

Weirdly enough, I've been attacked by people who think that I want to create some kind of dystopian society like the one from the book. People see the word "socialist" and go practically into apoplexy. Apparently combining it with Alex de Large makes them start frothing at the mouth.

Mine just means that I got tired of the crummy stock image that I settled on before, and returned to Mads Mikkelson as Le Chiffre. No meaning behind it, I just happen to like that particular character. It'll be changed again some time in the future, too. I never keep the same av.

My avatar means "keep calm and destroy everything"

This avatar is an ancient Illirian statue. It is about Dardanians and their ancient hats (such as in the avatar) whom are still worn today.

And now my Avatar is a symbol of the New Orleans Saints, my favorite team.

Dr. Sheldon Cooper is the only person (real or fictional) that's as smart as I am. There ya go.

It's me....

I've always posted with my own pic (since I have had the realistic capabilities to do such)....

I chose mine because I think that there's nothing cooler than Samuel L. Jackson in a hot pink wig.

I also had this, for a while, as my avatar for my college message board. Then I realized that most people there don't understand my warped sense of humor, and they thought I was just a really ugly drag queen, so I traded out and put up an avatar of Plankton, from SpongeBob, because he is a genius and I want to be considered a genius, not an ugly drag queen.
