Does Wendy Davis have a chance to win Texas?

Will Wendy Davis win Texas?

I like how the poll and the title ask two different things. She has a chance because she's not running as a third party candidate (Yes, I know, Gary Johnson blah blah blah). However, I don't think she'll win.

Yeah, I goofed. Oops.

I'm sure if there were a man who married a woman so that she would pay his way through college and then left her afterward, who abandoned his kids, that people would question the character of that man and rightfully so.

Can you prove that she did either one?

My ex-wife and I divorced right after I finished grad school. You tell me why. Based on your assumptions it was because I got what I wanted and no longer needed to be married.

Who knows if Texans are able to recognize that if she were a man, none of this would be an issue. At the moment, I don't give Texans that much credit, as they have proven too many times to be a regressive society.

By the way you know that Texas has had female governors in the past, right?

She didn't adopt, they're her kids.

I'm not a "moral fascist," I'm a libertarian.

This awful wretch should lose because she is a stooge of Cecile Richards, which absolutely does mean that she thinks it's okay to brutally kill innocent little babies in the womb, and yes, that's going to play a huge role in her loss.

Running for governor of the most important state in the union.
Well then....unless my understanding of Texas's political makeup is wildly incorrect, there is no chance in hell that she will win, if that article in the OP is even partially correct.

Edit: Also, don't you think "most important state in the nation" is a bit....biased?

:agree: Texas may be changing, but not that much!

Greetings, RobbieLoucks. :2wave:

This poll is a little dated, but it shows Davis 15 points down.

I couldn't find any more recent ones. But this race is Abbott's to lose, not for Davis to win.

Based on what do you think Texas is the most important state in the union. OMFG. ROFL.

You're not in the legislation...now are you? Therefore it doesn't matter what you consider yourself to be.

I don't vote for people on the basis of character.

I vote for them strictly on where they stand on the issues.

I would far rather have someone who I despise in power - who runs things well; rather then someone whom I like - who runs things horribly.

Fair enough. I do vote for people on their character. That's why I have voted about 50/50 for democrats and republicans in the past.

A non-partisan voter...I like it.

Here's hoping. We've had a female democrat governor before, but I doubt it will happen with this one.

Hell yeah it is. Yee haw.

I did say it seemed to be regressing, that indicates a probably that it was progressing at some point.

So a female governor is progress just because of what she has between her legs? What if she was a crappy governor?

I think you're focused on all the wrong stuff. Jobs, education, security... improvements in those areas represents progress. Whether the governor has a vagina is pretty inconsequential.

Ann Richardson was an excellent governor, imo, though like most, not perfect. Certainly better than Bush or Perry.
