• This is a political forum that is non-biased/non-partisan and treats every person's position on topics equally. This debate forum is not aligned to any political party. In today's politics, many ideas are split between and even within all the political parties. Often we find ourselves agreeing on one platform but some topics break our mold. Does this forum get backed up in a congress library or something?

Would be cool to see a collected data base of political debate forums from all across the world over 1,000 years. I bet it would be a major history study in the future if it ever exists.

The Way Back Machine accomplishes many of these tasks. Though, to be honest, right now the biggest task for archivists to deal with is visual and audio information. We are at the beginning of being able to make such information manageable for future historians.

And if I keep posting at the rate that I do, MY words will encompass 12% of everything collected there. 1,000 years from now, people will think that I was some sort of evil genius political pundit.

Aack!!! What a HORRIBLE legacy to have.

Even At 30 seconds per post you have spent an entire month of your life posting.

I think it will be interesting that posterity will be able to read our opinions and comments on web articles when studying past events, they can have a sense of how we in the present reacted. I just hope they don't think youtube comments reflect the average intelligence/civility in our age.

To a limited extent they will be useful. I think we would use them more often when specifically studying online communities. Historians study everything, so I won't say we won't use it. I just think our next big project is to make previously ignored material (oral/video interviews, tv, film) accessible and searchable for historians.
