Does Jesus talk to you?

That wasn't the intention of this thread. The intention of this thread was for me to take an informal poll of the DP community in hopes of finding out what percentage of people honestly believe Jesus talks to them.

I'm not slamming Christianity.

Whether or not someone who thinks Jesus talks to them is crazy doesn't (or shouldn't) reflect upon that religion. There are plenty of crazy people in all religions (plenty of crazy athiests too). Just because theres a couple of nuts in the bunch doesn't mean they're all bad, or that their shared religion is bad.

No, Christianity as a general concept. Last I checked, nobody singled you out for slamming. If you decide to take general comments about Christianity personally, that's your problem.

I have felt the presence of the gods many times, as you say, in the tales of their deeds and in the words of Odin, even filtered as they were through many human hands. But I have also, on a handful of occasions, felt their presence much more clearly and directly than that, and once I would say that I was spoken to exactly as you have described-- as clearly as if he were standing right next to me.

I know that my mental health stands to be questioned even on the best of days, but I don't dare dismiss the experience as a trick of bad brain chemistry. It was one of the most influential experiences of my life.

If someone claimed that they could hear their God's voice as clear as they would hear their friend's, I would be concerned for their mental health. That doesn't mean I would not examine the situation and look at the context in this, too. Since it is not something that seems to occur, often, I would find it's veracity to be highly unlikely and be skeptical, but I would not dismiss it outright. I would consider the possibility.

Not really.. Christians also follow the old testament, but the new testament completely breaks away from it, and encourages worship of Jesus, and statues and so on, which is strictly forbidden in the old testament.

The Christian part of most European systems have a heavy weight on the ten commandments, which really all Christians break.

To me personally, it clearly seems that Christians are really Jews led astray by Jesus to break with all the teachings of the old testament, they appear confused. They teach the ten commandments, yet do not follow them, they teach both the old and the new testament, yet they do not follow the old.
