I would agree - which is why I'm very careful speaking in absolutes about a being I cannot hope to fully comprehend.
This is why there's great joy among many of us when we see that less and less people are participating in organized religion.
True, we should be cautious not to misrepresent Him but He reveals much of Himself through His Word...we can get to know Him by obeying what He says...
"It is by this we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He who says “I know him” and does not keep his commandments is a liar; in that man the truth is not; but whoever keeps his word, in him God’s love does really come to its completion. It is by this we know that we are in him: he who says he is dwelling in him ought himself to be walking in the same way as he walked." 1 John 2:3-6
You call this "organized"?
I think I do my best with the understanding I have, Elvira. I'm grateful every single day that it is God's job, not mine, to be the judge of how well we have interpreted his texts and lived our lives as a result.
The Bible tells us we cannot know everything.
1 Corinthians Chap 13 verse 12: "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
With that always in mind, along with the numerous calls for humility we find in the Bible, I focus on the love mandate, and defer to God to be the judge.
Colossians 3:12: Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
That's a tall enough order most days to leave little time for judging anyway.
My point was about the fact that we can get to know God personally...many believe that is not true...Abraham was called God's friend...that indicates he had a personal relationship with God, we can, too...
Does "god" play favorites with countries? Is America "god's" darling?
Is it a popularity contest or something?
Does "America" include Canada, Mexico, all of South America and Central America too?
Is Peru on the same level of "blessed" as say Kentucky?
Does "god" not bless Australia, Denmark, or Japan?
I mean, considering absolutely NONE of the biblical anything ever takes place in the USofA I have to wonder why so many in the USofA seem to think
"god" truly has a special place in his/her/it's "heart" for America?
How do we know that "god" truly likes America more than Iran? Or more than Greenland? Or more than China?
Is there anything biblical that suggests the USofA is somehow "god's chosen land"?
Or that citizens of the USofA are now "god's favorite people"?
If the biblical "god" is a real thing, wouldn't that "god" be getting rather frustrated and kinda pissed off at the USofA?

Then why do you need a church, and other humans (who are known to be highly fallible) to tell you what to believe and what not to believe?

There is scholarly consensus that Abraham (and by extension, “the patriarchs”; and including the Mosaic legends) was a rather late-breaking fictional addition (post-Exilic) to the Jewish religious identity narrative. On one hand you had former captive Jews returning after generations spent in a foreign land, and with no land remaining to claim as their own (Abrahamic); and on the other hand you had Jews who had remained to claim all the land in their absence during the Exile (Mosaic). The irony that 3 of the world’s major religions depend upon these myths and legends would appear to be lost upon most.
OM
Nothing fictional or mythical about him...
If there was a god, he would have **** on America a long time ago. It's pretty obvious why. But, fear not. There is no god blessing or ****ting on anything.
Thread: Does "God" Actually "Bless America"???
Nothing fictional or mythical about him...
Other than references in the bible, can you show that your statement is true?
Pretty much. Whatever God is, there is nothing to suggest it is something which would involve itself in the lives and fates of billions upon billions of culture-bearing primates on this particular hospitable planet in a remote galaxy spiraling thru the universe.

An opposing question to the OP thought might be:
Does "god" actually NOT bless certain countries/populations?
In what shape or form might that take?
