No problem, was just coming back in to say its not a big deal. I can understand being skeptical of it. I generally am of such thigns as well. It just seemed you were being way over the top in regards to it and, while I generally often disagree with Dirtpoorchris, it felt like he was getting an unfair shake on that and found it espicially ironic considering Ethereals post.
I don't think it was your intent, but it just felt like he was getting beat with a stick completley undeservingly.
Nah. Bush deserved to have a shoe thrown at him about 3-5 years ago. Now it just seems like harassing an old guy on the verge of retirement.
Why are liberal extermists so angry and hateful? It's a genuine question...what fuels this classless demeanor?
Pity the show missed that murdering war mongers head, is all I can say. If he killed my family and friends, I'd throw more than a shoe.
Bush is responsible for thousands upon thousands of deaths and some feel he does not even desereve to be hit with a shoe? What does this say about some folks thinking?
Think about what you just said to me and think about what your comment says about a man that has sent thousands of our own off to die in a useless war. Just how civilized is Bush? :doh
He deserves more than shoes. If it was my family that was killed, the thing i'd throw would be much harder and bigger ...
Should it be chucked at him whilst he's representing US? No.
I hope after he steps down from office his life is made hell tbh.
I don't think Bush deserved that. I feel bad too because everytime I see the clip, I find myself laughing.
Yes, far easier to blame Bush for the deaths rather than the people actually doing the killing; you know, those despicable thugs, terrorists and despots whom you want to ignore and place all blame on America and Bush. After all, why blame them for their actions right? It's much better to blame a man trying to do the RIGHT thing and ignore the murderous thugs who want to create an Islamic terror center in the ME.
When I see illogical and uninformed comments like this, it truly is apparent to me that our educations systems have failed us.
Things George W. Bush can dodge (Updated)
1. Questions from the press
2. The draft
3. Shoes *new*
The only way to really know would be to poll actual and recent vets. Neither of you really know if its a waste or not. Why not ask the ones doing it? So far more people I've met that are related to anything militairy think its all a waste more than a help.
I'd rather it have been a knife.
Once again you appear confused, Bush didn't "dodge" the draft; but thank you for illustrating why Liberals seem to love a lie.
I knew this would come up eventually. First of all, I was making a joke..get a sense of humor. Secondly, a lot of people accuse Bush of dodging the draft, but a lot of people also accuse Clinton, Cheney, Biden, etc. for the same thing.
I am sorry; my guess is that if you are going to make a joke, it should be funny? :2wave:
I've not problem whatsoever with this. It's hardly the most nuanced form of political protest, but if a foreign agressor bombed and invaded the US, killing your friends and loved ones, and one of your own responded by chucking a shoe, I suspect you'd find it hard to muster any outrage.
Of course you would feel the same way if it were Obama?
Wow, it's like he was imitating Jon Stewart imitating George Bush.
And to answer the question, yes, he absolutely deserves to have shoes thrown at him everywhere he goes. If there was any justice in the world, he would be be bitten by children and peed on by dogs for the rest of his life. He needn't be punished with a Michael Bay kind of vengeance, but rather just a...sad...existence.
There is no way any president from either party in the foreseeable future will be as retarded as Bush.
I do not do it anymore but I had one vet bawling almost after talking to him for a while. He didn't open up for a while but then admited that most of it was all bull**** and really ****ed up and made no sense what so ever. He felt incredibly duped by his own government. I could almost sense it. Almost like he felt evil because of the whole thing. I felt really bad for him. He ended the conversation with "Its up to people like you to tell um all."
We keep forgetting what terrible president that he is. He invaded Iraq for no reason and many thousands of Iraqi citizens have died for no reason.
I am glad they were shoes instead of Bullets. I don't want Bush assassinated, only sent to prison.
How so? I asked a general question about the extremists from your side, and based that off the anger I see here in this thread. You proceeded to be angry and hateful and when I pointed that out, you call me ignorant?
I might be wrong, but what from I saw of the video, his bodyguards ran in from another room just as he'd ducked the second shoe. Why weren't they right there wth him, knowing that he was giving a speech in place with a lot of hostile feeling towards the US?
Hey dood,
The $700 billion bailout is your buddy Bush's idea, along with that other liar Paulson! Read the papers much?
We should not blindly respect someone simply based on whatever postion they may hold in our country.
