This is one of the many hobbies I have, I started not too long ago, when at work I kept haing to get other people to weld for me. Since then I have bought 4 welders,1 harbor freight wire welder, 1 century dc stick welder, and 2 harbor freight ac stick welders( my girlfriend fried the first one, which i'm sure youtube taught her how, since she can barely plug in a toaster without instructions)

I am getting more and more into it, mainly because I can fix stuff withoout paying a welder, but also becaue I can make random stupid stuff because I can. I mostly use stick welding, because I like it's versatility, while most younger people only mig, which I can do great, but I do not fancy it.

I still work with my Hobart Ironman 210 Mig.

I threw away my stick welder the day I bought it 14 years ago.

meh ever since mig welders have been in use, stick has been a love it or hate it thing. I prefer stick but am one of the few of the younger people, most I see who swear by stick learned and used it exclusevly long before mig became common and affordable in the 80's.

I can run a mig with a glaring hangover and my eyes held open with toothpicks. Stick welders? I was always hit and miss with them. My son loves stick also.
