Us. Conservatives. That is "Us"
You still trying for that angle?

Dang man, if you have blinders of denial on, then we aint gonna get nowhere!

I saw your quote (I saw the "us" in your quote)... the reason I was asking was because you sound like a Liberal.

Why? Democrats aren't advocating a new strategy, just retreat and failure. Of course people voted no.

Getting out of Iraq without another 3000 Americans and 50,000+++ Iraqis dying would be a success to me.

I personally agree with these goals. Since we broke it we need to fix it. But I also think it's misleading to say that we're fighting terrorists in Iraq. The overwhelming majority of the violence right now is not caused by terrorists, it's caused by the Shiites and Sunnis fighting each other. Insurgents, not terrorists.

Whatever like you say we need to fix what the Congress and the president started...Make no mistake about it though there are terrorists from Syria and Iran in Iraq..........

It depends what time frame you are talking about. If getting out of Iraq results in full scale civil war in Iraq then it is certainly possible that more than 50,000 additional Iraqi could die before it's done. Similarly if leaving Iraq results in increased terrorist activity elsewhere in the world, it is entirely possible that more than 3000 additional Americans will die as a result. It's a big assumption that leaving Iraq will save lives in the long run.

I saw your quote (I saw the "us" in your quote)... Wheew!
the reason I was asking was because you sound like a Liberal.

Sure, I sound like a Liberal. I am a Conservative though. I think that it is alright to embrace common sense over party ideologies in most cases. Most of my values are Conservative, most of my politics are Independent Conservative with traces of Liberalism. Pro-Environment, some social programs, etc.

If we left Iraq millions of Iraqis would die.........

Is this something like your predictions that the Democrats wouldn't take over Congress?

What you say has truth. And when we pull out it may be that a future intervention will be required; but this time under an international or regional mandate where America is not responsible for the actions.

On thing is indisputable true, however. Once we leave, it will be arabs killing arabs and muslems killing muslems, and they won't be able to blame the US presence there for that.

They won't be able to...but they will still blame America, and so will the Liberals. They will never let that go.

Why aren't the Liberals in Congress doing something about the situation? They were voted in so that they would make a change and now they are playing ball... :rofl

I'm telling you that any person that believes in the political process now is a fool. It is all Special Interest Groups and money. Just look at how corrupt our fine Democrat Senators are in CA. Dang, you could pick on almost any from either Political Party and find conflicts of interest that run up the ***. It is a pile of dung and it is not ever gonna clean itself.
