I'm going to assume that if you're voting on this poll, you've kept an eye on what's been occurring in Florida's elections process the last several days. Some highlights:

- Gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum (D) conceded the race to Ron DeSantis (R) last week, but has now rescinded his concession.

- A postal worker in Miami-Dade County reported crates of ballots sitting in a storage area of the Opalocka mail facility. Ballots are supposed to be held by the elections board for 22 months after an election. It's unsure whether the ballots found in the storage area were ever counted.

- Broward County official Brenda Snipes, who has a history of bungling elections, was found to have missed valid ballots with invalid ones, once again drawing complaints of incompetence, or corruption.

- The ballots were poorly designed, and several thousand voters missed voting on the Senate race because it was placed directly below the instructions.

Do you personally trust the recount process now in place in light of how badly many election officials appear to have bungled things in Florida? Why or why not?

Are there observers from both parties taking part?

The GOP lead is big enough and enough attention is being paid to what's happening that I think it will all work out OK in the end. The Democrats may try, but they won't succeed. If all else fails, this gets decided in the US Senate.

https://www.senate.gov/artandhistor..._elections/procedures_contested_elections.htm

Generally, a senator with the proper credentials against whom a challenge had been filed would be seated "without prejudice." Under this arrangement, if a committee investigation later determined that for some reason the individual was not entitled to a seat, he could be "excluded" from the Senate by a simple majority vote, as opposed to having to be expelled, which required a two-thirds majority.

Why does everything have to be so complicated in Florida?

I think there are enough people paying close enough attention that, yes, I trust whatever result is ultimately reached will be correct.

That is the question, isn't it? You'd have thought they would have learned their lesson once and for all from 2000.

They call Florida the **** up state for a reason. It's a magnet for losers that would freeze to death if they were bums elsewhere.

We are not living in a political climate where I can have much confidence we have mostly trusted neutral officials. The cases of hypocrisy, partisanship and bias are palpable in multiple domains. So here we have a body of evidence of plausible shenanigans. So yes I have little faith no-one is/did weigh the scales.

Hard to believe this incompetent state contains Disneyworld which I feel every child should visit once in their life.

Another Florida oddity I forgot to mention; former congressional hopeful Pam Keith (D) took to Twitter a few days ago, to ask people to volunteer to sign unsigned ballots that were going to be void without a signature. This is illegal.

The biggest problem I see is the refusal to disclose methods as ordered by the court and by law. There is a thing called under and over voting, over voting is checking multiple boxes for the same type of election, like voting boh democrat and republican candidates for senate, and under voting is where not all candidates in an election are voted on, like they may choose house and senate but not vote on gov race.

What I fear is the counting of undervotes before what florida law allows, and given the secrecy so far, it makes one wonder what is being hidden after a court order especially on something as serious as vote counting.

They can handle being hit by hurricanes, but they can't do an election without something going wrong. :doh

I presume she meant to sign their own ballots, not someone else's

Let's remember if Florida were to determine that Bill Nelson and Andrew Gilium won the election it would be the greatest discrepancy of votes in a recount by 500% in the history of recounts.

You'd be right. Some would like you to believe otherwise. Not too smart, eh?

Still illegal. Ballots must be signed AT the voting polls, before being submitted.

Are you saying that mailed ballots have to be signed at a polling place? WTH?

Astounding that you didn't understand her post, but then again I'm not surprised that you didn't .

This is illegal. Once ballots are cast, they aren't supposed to be altered. If a ballot isn't signed before being cast, it's void. Pam Keith asked Floridians to commit voter fraud.

OMG! Repukes got nothing but to try and suppress the vote like that scumbag kemp. Good for her to try and do the right thing.

Here's another little gem:

"Florida officials are now saying that nearly 200,000 registered voters may not be U.S. citizens.

An initial list drawn up by the state — and not widely released — shows that a comparison of voter lists and driver's license information turned up a list of nearly 182,000 people who may not be U.S. citizens."

Let me guess; they were auto-registered to vote by the DMV?
