What does firing him have to do with being politically correct? He said something stupid and offensive, his employers determined he was a net liability for the company, and he got shitcanned. That's how capitalism works.

They don't have their own radio shows, or they might (at least Sharpton, anyway).

Jackson is the leader of an organization, so unless he's going to fire himself, his job is probably safe. Sharpton...does he even have an actual job?

Awww poo Navy Wavy is mad that capiwalism wont work his way. It all comes down to money. If I want to be associated with people like Jackson I take a risk. If I want to be associated with people like Amus I take a risk. The people who took the risk on Amus decided he wasn't worth what he earned. Simple as that.

In that case, they will be fired if they say anything so offensive that their employer determines they are no longer profitable for the company. Just as Imus was.

Ya it's true. I just chuckle when I hear Sharpton speak; he doesn't really make me that mad. And I actually like Jesse Jackson sometimes, in small doses.

This country is run a muck of political correctness on both sides.

The left is extremely conservative on name calling and labeling and the right extremely conservative on anything sexual.

If you don't like Capitalism. There is always North Korea. Or Cuba. 3-4 radio stations each. Pro-Government propaganda 24/7. You'd love it. I'll call my wife so she can get to work on the tickets.

Why do you have such a problem with capitalism? It's up to the employer's to fire their employee's if they don't want to they don't have to. CBS and MSNBC obviously felt that is was in their best interests as companies to severe ties with Imus.

If you have a problem with Sharpton of Jackson still being employed I suggest you write a letter to their employers.

If Imus wants a job where he will not be fired for such remarks perhaps he should go work for a white-nationalist run radio program.

What double standard? Radio stations are a business. If they believe that someone is profitable, they'll keep them on. If they don't, then they'll fire them. Just like any other business does.

Of course Political Correctness is rampant, but the whole Imus thing has very little to do with PC, at least on the part of his employers. They are in business to make a profit. Having Imus, at least with the current furor, is a liability. They have every right to fire him because he's a detriment to their profitability.

Now granted, the whole nonsense that's boiled up over this is very ludicrously PC, it isn't like Imus hasn't been making racist comments on the air for years, but that has little if anything to do with his termination.
