Agreed, not funny at all. Hell, it wasn't just the Americans. There was supposed to be some liberation of Iraqis going on. Many innocent Iraqis died because our actions destabilized the region further and thrust them into what was tantamount to a civil war.

It is funny that the current ISIS situation is being places squarely at the feet of Obama. Now people are acting like Bush is some sort of psychic for predicting that situation.
Seriously, it was his dads administration that predicted it!! That is why in the first Gulf War they elected not to go for Bagdad and Saddam. It was his dad's administration that knew that entering Iraq would be a quagmire and lead into a world of trouble.

Clinton will make the economy the central issue of her campaign. She will position herself as somewhat hawkish on foreign policy(more than most democrats, less than most republicans), socially liberal and trying to work to benefit both the middle class and business. That is completely lacking in specifics, and that will be interesting to see, but if she runs, I think all of those are safe to say. Where she will spend her time is on the economy, and she has already started on that. Her Daily Show appearance recently she hit that message hard, that when her and her husband where coming up, if you worked hard and where smart, you would get ahead, but now that is not necessarily the case. It is a solid message that if she can put planned initiatives with could be hard to beat.

She will talk about foreign policy only as much as she has to. It isn't a winner for any candidate, with the public varying from disinterested to mostly against anything any candidate would do. She will have a stock answer for questions about Benghazi, basically stating that the procedures where flawed, they found those flaws and fixed it, and then move on to other questions.

Hm. That might be it. The problems with a strategy of loose-hawkishness is that A) it makes her extremely vulnerable in the context of a Democrat primary, where half of the base already doesn't trust her and B) the attempt to keep foreign policy on the back-burner is likely to be overtaken by events. A 2016 that is marked by events similar to this year would make it about as difficult for candidates to refuse to address it as candidates in 2008 could avoid talking about the economic downturn.... I wrote that messed up, but you get the intent.

President Obama wanted to keep ISIL on the backburner - wanting to do so doesn't ensure that you will be given the space to do so.

Have you looked at those numbers ? They all aren't vets of the Iraq and Afghan wars.

All of the suicides are being lumped together like how they lump illegal aliens with legal immigrants.

There are theories floating around why there are so many suicides that make sense and some may not like.

But this deserves it's own thread.

Those who are going to vote for Hillary or are backing her for President regardless of what is found or not found, Benghazi means nothing to them. Those who are against Hillary, they do not need Benghazi to vote against her. But they do hope something is found, a smoking gun that may make some people change their minds which hope is all it is. For independents and those who haven't decided one way or the other on Hillary, Benghazi happened eons ago and is ancient history, Benghazi one way or the other won't be a factor in their decision to support or vote against Hillary.
