I have heard several of my liberal friends say its to soon after 9/11 to show this film....What do you think?

I'd say "yes" if the families of the folks on 93 were against the movie. It seems they have given their full support and I am behind that. So, a "no, it's not too soon" vote for me.

Not at all. The movies are going to be made sometime. If not now, when? Besides, people don't have to go and watch it if they're uncomfortable with it. I should remind everyone that Apocalypse Now (about the Vietnam War) premiered in 1979, and Casablanca (about WWII) premiered in 1942.

It's agood thing that they're showing this film already. That's because some people have forgotten what happened on that day, which is unfortunate. America needs a reminder, and the perfect time is now.

Who forgot what happened that day?

Edit: I voted no. It is a movie about heros.

Apparently some radical leftists did. Or else they wouldn't be shouting about how we don't belong in the Middle East. We wouldn't be there if radical islamists just left us alone.

Defenitely, I wasn't sure at first, but my wife, some friends and I saw saw it the other night and since then I decided it was a good Idea for the reason you stated. It's crucial to do it sooner rather than later so the context and accuracy was not lost. Overall I thought it was pretty good, I expected it to be a tearjerker, but it actually just kinda made me mad. Not what I expected, but well done nonetheless.

Who were you mad at? America who is allegedly at fault for it (according to some leftists) or were you mad at the terrorist bastards?

Vote = No.

hmmmmmm, 6 people have voted that no its not to early to show this film and 42 people have viewed the thread..........

Come on libs, stand up and be counted, if you think its to early like my liberal friends say so......

How is this a partisan or ideological issue?

I think the movie looks kind of stupid. I'm not saying it's to early or to late, just that it looks stupid. Seeing how you can't make cell phone calls from planes defeats the purpose of the movie and the event. I think the whole rising up against the hijakers story was just to lift our spirits. Positive propoganda.

The question of the poll is the movie to soon......

I give you credit though, you are one liberal that speaks his true feelings....

Not saying it did or didn't happen, but I have made phone calls from a plane and first class has phones.

The 9/11 commission (through testimony, tapes of passengers' phone calls, and the flight data recorders recovered from the crash) determined that crew and passengers, alerted through phone calls to loved ones, attempted to subdue the hijackers. The 9/11 commission concluded that the hijackers crashed the plane to keep the crew and passengers from gaining control. The 9/11 commission report states that pilot LeRoy Homer, flight attendants CeeCee Lyles and Sandra Bradshaw and passengers Todd Beamer, Mark Bingham, Tom Burnett, Andrew Garcia, Jeremy Glick, and Richard Guadagno, among others, fought back against the hijackers.

Wow, Donkey, you exude nothing but anger. For some people, 9-11 was a devastating day and this is painful to them. I hightly doubt it has anything to do with why we don't belong in the Middle East. A woman I know watched people jump out of the World Trade Center. You wanna talk about devastation?

BTW, the only place we belong in the Middle East is Afghanistan. I would like to remind you that Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9-11.

If anyone recalls, one of the women whose husbands was on the plane had a conversation him with him via the cell phone. They talked about the other planes and he made a comment about still having his knife from breakfast (which at that time was still metal). She talked about their last words together. I am sure they weren't the only ones who spoke via a cell phone.

You CAN make cell phone calls in an airplane--there's just a law that says you may not.

Exactly, I don't think there is any question that calls were made from that flight......

Sorry, vibeeleven. I must have missed it. :3oops:
It's cool, the transcripts from the black box are there too.

I wonder if he'll come back to tell us how things reallyare.

I read that transcript, and it makes me sick. That flight #11 is the one that had a guy on it that I knew. It absolutely breaks my heart.

I don't think it's too soon I think it's too late! :rofl I saw a movie that seems very similar on TV not too long ago! Has anyone seen this movie and the TV movie for a compare/contrast? I have trouble figuring what could be in the Hollywood movie version that wasn't in the TV version.
