Even though the Soviet Union has not existed for over 20 years, Some people still do.

The soviet Union dissolved after we strategically whooped their ass.

Russia, the little baby that came afterwards, isn't equivalent to the SU.

Hence, I don't refer to Russia as the SU nor do I know anyone that does.

No -- I left USSR in 1983.

The USSR was more than Russia, the USSR is also dead.

The death of the USSR was one of the finest moments in modern history.

Anyway, no, I'd worry for the sense of anyone that says otherwise.

Who is this "some people"

People stuck in 1990.
