Do you see Russia as a European power or as an Asian power?
So it seems to be.Rumpel:
I see modern-day Russia as a would-be Eurasian power which is just not strong enough to be the "power" it wishes to be. Since the times of the Tsars it has embraced Oriental absolutism coupled with Western, Occidental ideologies like state-capitalism and communism. So Russia is a hybrid of Asian and European influences in many ways, as you say.
Both, but mostly European as that's where they've operated mostly for most of history. However, they are in bed with China so that puts them involved with the main power player in the Asian theater.Do you see Russia as a European power or as an Asian power?
A fading power.Do you see Russia as a European power or as an Asian power?

Actually, I tend to see it as it's own thing, not a power in either of those general groupings.Do you see Russia as a European power or as an Asian power?
Nice wording!I don't think they're either... to me, they deserve their own separate classification. I think Winston Churchill had the best read on Russia, saying it was "a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma."
