Just got back from a road trip to pa and jersey. Up and back on I-95. All of the states we went through had welcome to and thanks for visiting signs, except republican controlled flori-duh with our alligator Alcatraz. Our welcome sign reads Welcome to the free state of flori-duh. Ron DeSantis governor.

So I personally want to extend our governor's feelings to the rest of America, stop living in slave states and move to the free state of flori-duh.

I have really come to despise the gop for inflicting W and trump on America.

And despise does not mean hate no matter how many times gop folks try to say it is.

Well i am glad you could that little nonsensical rant of your chest. I hope you feel better.

Thank you! I love visiting Florida and usually have a great time while there. You're lucky to be living in a state that's got its stuff together.

If florida is a free state, I'll remain happy in my beautiful slave state where many rightwing nutters are still in their shells. Florida and texas are two shitholes I'd never want to live in. Hope you enjoyed your road trip.

Move

Yeah lucky, over a hundred days a year of over ninety degrees and sky high humidity in the summer. Move on down and get you some of these outrageous home insurance rates for yourself, you'll love it here.

PA and NJ were that much better than Florida ?

For all of those who missed the premise of this thread it's the free state of Florida compared to all the other states? Do you live in a free state or a slave state and why does our republican governor feel the need to say the FREE state of Florida.

It ain't about whether I like living here or not.

Spent my time there but love to go and visit when I get the chance. Insurance definitely keeps me from buying anything. Are you a lifer there or you a northern transplant?

Actually NJ roads are insane with their jug handle turns. For some reason or other, to make a left hand turn to cross a street, you have to make a right first. Pa was better cause I wasn't anywhere near center city Philly, didn't even see it.

From PA, been here thirty five years or so. I live in a quiet small town and don't miss city traffic at all. Florida has some gorgeous spots and a lot of coastline, but the interior is mainly open land. Sadly for me, it's hot as hell for a long time each year, our heat indexes are over a hundred and that's normal for us. When the rest of the country is dying from a heat wave, that's just a normal summer day for us. It's not even nine and already feels like 90 and today's high will be 98 with a heat index well over a hundred,

DeSantis history notwithstanding, Florida was a CSA slave state and seceeded from the Union on January 10, 1861.

I've visited Florida. Far too humid. Cockroaches almost the size of an alligator.

Vegas should establish odds on how many shoreline condo buildings are going to tumble into the ocean.

I don't live in a slave state, no. The signs only say "Welcome," but if you look around, you'll find the state motto, "Battle Born."

Apparently, it was the silver from Virginia City in the new state of Nevada that financed the North's victory in the Civil War.

As far as freedom goes, if you got a vice, it's legal here.

As far as weather goes, I would die in Florida from the humidity. No thanks. I'd die in Vegas, too, so Northern Nevada, while hot, is a good blend.

Anyway, yeah. Calling itself "the free state..." is very strange.

I grew up in the panhandle so well versed in the heat and humidity and if you're in S Fla it's just all one variation of summer One of the main reasons I would never go back is I've gotten used to a touch of the 4 seasons and the beauty that comes with them. I'd much rather spend my time with a mountain view and just visit the Gulf when I need to scratch the itch.

You along with most others are missing the point or just not responding to what was asked.

this was the rant

Condolences on living in MAGAt Land. A shame, what has become of my native state of FL.

Glad we decided to make our home in VA, where the state motto is “Sic Semper Tyrannis," meaning "Thus always to tyrants”.

IMO, better in every way, except taxes, than FL.

Would a question mark have made it more understandable to you? Did you not the the gist of my so called rant?

I knew somebody out there couldn't resist. Best part to me, all of the above mentioned is exactly what trump does to everyone who crosses him so I guess trump hates a lot of people, no?

Just getting off the plane and feeling that insane heat slam you in the face is enough for me. I don't know how Floridians deal with it.
