Do you know any Christians?

Modern day Christians for the most part do not practice what they preach. I was very disappointed when Trump was defended even after so many non Christ like behaviors were shown daily. Instead of brining people to Christ many more people are leaving because of the abuse, scandals, and down right outrageous stuff that is coming from the Christian right. Oh well

Lacking the ability to distinguish the truth from the lies is no excuse with God...He blessed us all with a brain...

I consider those who follow Jesus and his teachings to be my brothers and sisters...

That's a real tricky statement, isn't it?
We're back to the OP question. "Walking the walk. Day in and day out." :)

How would you know a person is really following Jesus' teachings?
How would you know a person is not trying his best, to follow Jesus' teachings?

As I've asked in one of the post above.................... would a Christian who falls into temptation not considered a Christian who "walks the walk?"
Because, if that's what we expect a Christian to be - then, we're looking for perfection!
That's the point.

Why can't you answer a straight question?
Do you consider those who identify as Christians - like Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals - as your brothers and sisters?

Modern day Christians for the most part do not practice what they preach.

How do you know?
Have you lived with, and known all of them?

I was very disappointed when Trump was defended even after so many non Christ like behaviors were shown daily.

Ah. Because of Trump. :ROFLMAO:

It's a question of faith. That's the reason why people leave and become apostate.
Abuses, scandals and other outrageous stuffs coming from Christians (whether they be left or right), are just convenient excuses for many.

Why on earth would we blame God - and reject Him - for sins committed by humans?

It shows in the life they lead...
would a Christian who falls into temptation not considered a Christian who "walks the walk?"
It depends on their repentance...that also shows in the life they lead from that point on...
Do you consider those who identify as Christians - like Catholics, Protestants, Evangelicals - as your brothers and sisters?
As a collective, no...they believe/teach false doctrines that the Bible does not support, they lead lives hypocritical to Jesus' teachings...do I believe there are sincere people out there, some within such organizations? Of course...otherwise the preaching work would have stopped by now...I myself came out of such an org...

"And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations,+ and then the end will come." Matthew 24:14

Not just people that say the believe in Jesus but actually walk the walk day in and day out?
The 'walk the walk' seems a bit vague. I know a number of Christians that using their religious belief in positive ways, and act in a manner that would be considered loving and caring. but, walk the walk means so many different things to so many different people.

It shows in the life they lead...It depends on their repentance...that also shows in the life they lead from that point on...

Yes, I agree.

As a collective, no...they believe/teach false doctrines that the Bible does not support,

Jehovah's Witnesses fits that!
As shown with evidence from the Bible.

.do I believe there are sincere people out there, some within such organizations? Of course...otherwise the preaching work would have stopped by now...

I still consider followers of JW and other denominations, as my brothers and sisters..........................because I believe that they - like you - have just been led away by false teachings.

Individually, or, COLLECTIVELY.

I myself came out of such an org...

..........as shown with clear BIBLICAL evidence - you are still, in "such an org."

they lead lives hypocritical to Jesus' teachings

"Leading lives," is shown in many ways too.
We see hypocrisy in how people are treated not only thru actions, but also through words.

........................Jesus' teachings

Teachings, like........................WITNESSING?

Mark 5:19
18 And as He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed was begging Him that he might accompany Him.
19 And He did not let him, but He *said to him, “Go home to your people and report to them what great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you.
20 And he went away and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed.

Teachings...................against SLANDER?

1 Peter 2
2 Therefore, rid yourselves of all [a]malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and [c]envy and all slander,

2 and like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
3 if you have tasted [h]the kindness of the Lord.

.....................JUDGING OTHERS?

Matthew 7
2 For in
the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.

3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?

"And this good news of the Kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations,+ and then the end will come." Matthew 24:14

........................and, it is a Christian duty to try to help brothers and sisters who are being led away from God by false teachings.

.....it is a Christian duty to CHALLENGE AND EXPOSE false teachings to a brother and sister......................................... ESPECIALLY SO when he/she is actively spreading such false teachings.

Christianity is a brotherhood...do you know your brothers?

Going back to that question - perhaps you'll know where I'm coming from if you read everything that I wrote and not simply pick-out a particular statement.
It kinda is taken out of context that way.
Here - read what I said again:

I would like to say that yes I do know many Christians who walk the walk.
But that's simply basing it on what I see at some time, or what I heard about them.

If a Christian falls into temptation and sins, does that mean he's no longer a Christian who "walks the walk?"
No.

How do we really know
"day in and day out," unless we are with them all day, everyday? :)
Only God knows who His true disciples are.

I'm speaking from a practical point of view.

How can we judge a person simply thru what we see - unless we are with them "day in and day out?" 24/7?
How many seemingly God-fearing men had secretly abused children behind closed doors? Batter their wives?
Partake in porn? etc....,

Actually, this kiid of "judgment" came up when my hubby was an elder.
The Pastor came to him seeking advise as what to do with a member who still lives with her male partner.
It was brought to the pastor's attention of that situation. Some members are calling for expulsion.
The member had reassured that the arrangement with the partner isn't sexual anymore, but a matter of economics.
They needed each other to share expenses!

My hubby and I had discussed it. How can we prove that there isn't anything sexual anymore?
How can we judge her if we can't prove anything against her?
Is it wrong to live with someone under the same roof to share expenses?

My hubby advised against expulsion.
Just imagine throwing out a member when she's practically innocent and speaking the truth!
If this member says there is nothing immoral happening anymore between them - and there's no evidence to prove otherwise - we'll just have to take her word for it.
It's between her and God.
God knows.

In the end............................ it's only God who can really tell who His real disciples are.

And here I thought just "offering a cup of cold water" was "Christ like" behavior.

But you are a Jehovah Witness, are you not?

We don't even believe in the same Jesus.

I believe what the Bible says...Jesus is God's Son, God is greater than Jesus, they are not equal, never were, never will be...Jesus cannot do a single thing without Jehovah and His power...

Okay...but Jehovah Witnesses believe that Jesus is really the archangel Michael and not actually God.

Correct?

Uh-huh.

Since my question was, "...but Jehovah Witnesses believe that Jesus is really the archangel Michael and not actually God. Correct?"

I'm just looking for clarification here.

Surely you can speak to your own beliefs, can you not?

Many scriptures point to that, yes...

Actually that's not true but thanks for answering my question that Jehovah Witnesses believe that Jesus is not God but the archangel Michael.

Jesus never claimed to be God...in fact, he stated "The Father is greater than I am"...

It doesn't matter. It's all lies anyways.

Jesus never claimed to be God...in fact, he stated "The Father is greater than I am"...
See John 8:58 where Jesus does claim to be God. Compare with Exodus 3:14.

With all due respect...you don't strike me as an expert on this topic.
LOL oh ex Christians know nothing of the bible or god. Thanks for the laugh.

Well, no it doesn't. That claim is trying to put too much emphasis on a phrase that has been translated through multiple languages, and inaccurately at that.
