Yep.
I think we do some dumb stuff every now and then. But overall, the US is the worlds last best hope. I don't think either of our last two presidents measured up to the potential they had. Clinton abused our trust and Bush got us involved in a conflict with no dignified way out.
But after all that, we get to try again, if only the people will take that opportunity.

Ambiguous question. Do you mean faith in the US's system of government, or this current government?

I think things are at a critical point now. if things dont start improving soon, they will get irreversally worse, and the country will ultimatly fail.

I'm not really sure what you mean.

I think that democracy is the best form of government for the United States (not necessarily for everyone in the world). But neither the form of democracy written in the Constitution or the form of democracy actually practiced in this country are ideal.

Gerrymandering of congressional districts has given us a very unrepresentative House of Representatives with a greater than 95% incumbency rate. The electoral college distorts the will of the people for presidential elections, for no real reason.

What do you mean by faith in the US government? I certainly don't trust our government to do what is right without oversight, if that's what you mean.

i do believe so. it has lasted through a civil war and 2 world wars.

Even though Congress is helping Bush consolidate is power and authority reminisent of the facist dictators of the past, I still believe in our system of government in as much as I expect the Supreme Court to rule the Military Commission's Act is un-Constitutional and put it properly in the dumpster.

How can anyone not believe in the principles that this country was founded on? Even though our current politicians (on both sides of the aisle) and their fanatical constituants are straying farther and farther away from what makes this country great, I still hold hope that there is enough of the good Americans left to properly correct the coarse of lunacy that is going on right now.

Despite all the bullshit things we are doing right now in this mythical war on terror, true American's:
  • Believe in due process of law
  • Believe any person has the right to habeas corpus
  • Believe in honoring our treaties and respecting the sovereignty of other nations
  • Believe in the rule of law
  • Prefer to take the road less traveled
  • Believe in life, liberty and justice for all (including citizens and aliens) except for TOT!
  • Believe in the 3 branches of government
  • Believe in removing from office (with our one man, one vote privilage), those elected officials that conduct themselves in violation of the Constitution.
  • Believe in a well informed republic
  • Believe in confronting any threat, anywhere, anytime when called to do so
The last one could be better summed up by what my father always told me when I was growing up, "Don't ever start a fight, but always finish it!"

I join with what Kandahar and Iriemon said. To vague a question. Please clarify what you mean and in what context.

But how long will it last?

yes.

the last adminstrations completely dropping the ball on national security proves we can pretty much endure anything.

however, if islamic nutjobs ever get nuclear materials, that could change.

I have complete faith in our democracy. Soon the people of the united states will through their constitutional rights reverse the errors and umbrella of lies that is coming from the Bush, and his supporters.
