When I was in high school I remember playing this online nation simulation game called NationStates, me and my friends spent hours playing that damn game. It was pretty popular, and if you remember it, I've been playing a similar game these days, I find it pretty compelling to this point, it's called CyberNations, and it operates using similar principles that the old game I remember did. Figured the DP crowd might appreciate a nation-building game as much as I do Cyber Nations, An online nation simulation game

Yeah, I played Nation States fews ago. I couldn't stick with it, though. It took the concept of "slippery slope" a bit too far.

I played it for a bit years ago and gave up. I was actually running a good country but got bored with it.

CyberNations is fun for like two weeks. Then you get your face stomped on by fifty people with an extremely complex (and ultimately arbitrary) set of "guidelines" to justify why they basically steamrollered you for your resources.

You can prolong your game by joining an alliance and being bossed around, used as cannon fodder in wars, and have protection money demanded from you.

Great idea, execution....a little shaky.

Democracy 2 is a better simulator-type game.

I don't remember that one.

When I was in high schools, checkers had just been invented and was all the rage.
