I voted only in the case where the mother's life is at risk.
Like ive said in other abortion related threads, there are some limitation to my support of abortion.

1. Partial Birth Abortions are not right, by this time usually the child in the womb possibly could survive outside of the mother, and I mean, c'mon you had a great deal of time to make your decision by then.

2. About this issue with Parents and thier Teenage daughters getting abortions. I believe that for a minor, Parental NOTIFICATION should be required, not CONSENT, but NOTIFICATION. The minor shouldn't have to get parents permission to have an abortion, since the child would be the minor's responsibility, not the parents. But I also believe that parents have a right to know that thier daugher has made a mistake, this could help parents get involved in thier child's life, assisting them with birth control advice and even medications.

3. There should be a limit to the amount of abortions one particular woman is allowed to have. Like no more than 2, unless in the case of rape or incest, or the mother/child's/both life is at risk. There should be a requirement to file this information with the state government, and to a federal database so that woman couldn't go to other states after they have run out of free tries. After like.. 2 abortions, a woman is required to pay for her irresponsibility by having the child.

You may ask why this part is important. Well, I know women who have more than 2 abortions, and I think after 1 abortion, you should have learned a lesson on irresponsibility.

Hi Navy Pride. I just voted. Am I one of your "Liberal friends"? *bats eyelashes*

I think it should be legal ONLY if the woman's life is in danger. Otherwise, NOPE.

Actually, I agree that Gays should get a right to a civil union as well.

Some extremely crazy religious people don't even agree they should be granted the financial/property/social benefits of a marriage, and state that they are God's reason for AIDS.

I love it how old religious men speak for a God.... If one even exhists.

You have radicals on both sides of any issue......I agree with you on Civil Unions and I think a good will could take care of the benefits you mentioned...

I am and old man but not that religeous but I do firmly believe their is a God and I hope you find that out before you die........

Remember the old saying.......There are no atheists in fox holes.....

Hey that is 2 things we have agreed on.........

Its hard for an Agnostic like myself to believe there is actually a god when there is so much corruption within the church itself, and then you have crazies like Fallwel or however you spell it, making statements like that one about AIDS and homosexuality, as if God speaks to him. And Pat Robertson who makes all these requests for openings on the Supreme Court, why should religious people need the help of the government?

I agree with Ben Franklin on this one...
"When a Religion is good, I conceive it will support itself; and when it does not support itself, and God does not take care to support it so that its Professors are obliged to call for help of the Civil Power [government], it is a sign, I apprehend, of its being a bad one."

Well my faith tells me there is a God and I believe it with my whole heart and soul.....I think it would be a very sad existence if this is all we have, we are born, live our life, die and there is no more....That would be vary hard for me to take..........

Also it is very hard for me to believe that this world we live in just happened by accident...........Way to much involved for that........

I have a very good friend who I use to argue politics and religion all the time with. He was a Catholic as a youth but drifted away from religion as he became older and became and atheist.......Well he got lung cancer in both lungs and passed away a couple of months ago........I was not there when he passed away but I found out he asked for a priest and received the last sacrament of Extreme Unction before he died..........

That made me so happy for him........

That probably happens more then you would think when your on your death bed.......

I absolutely, for the life of me, can't understand why we can't come to SOME sort of agreement on abortion - or at least get closer to figuring it out.

Partial Birth - absolutely not! If that baby was out of the womb it'd be murder. It's just the most awful thing in the world. I'm serious. These are not women who are three months pregnant. These are, in most cases, for babies that can survive outside the womb.

Imagine hearing on the news that someone jammed scissors into the head of a three day old baby and sucked it's brains out. You'd be so appauled, you'd want to find the ****er who did that and, well, at the very least toss them in jail for life. Why is it okay to do that to a baby that could survive on it's own but just happens to not have been born yet.

And then there's got to be SOME give on the other end - like abortion is okay in the first 10 weeks or something.

Anyway...I think there should absolutely be consequences for women who get an abortion. I think anyone who gets an abortion automatically gets a Norplant and the guy who got her pregnant gets a little anti-Viagra or something.

There are these loser guys running around fathering tens of babies and not supporting them a bit. VASECTOMY is the only answer here, IMHO.

I voted no never.

I've had two friends who have gone through this procedure because their life was at risk. Now, both say they wish they would have died - one to spare her child and the other with her child. It's like they're living a cursed life.

But honestly - I think it's got to be taken case by case and decided between the parents and their doctor.

Nah, I think you meant to vote for Yes.

As for partial birth abortion I mean I don't really know. Its hard to find a good non partisan site that talks about it so I can't form a good opinion on it. However it would be nice if someone believes that there should be partial birth abortion I would like to here an explanation cause it does sound kinda gruesome to me.

Finn, there's a link to it on page one. Whether it's partisan or not doesn't matter - it's an accurate description of the procedure.

Was she married?
Did you ever ask her if she thinks it would be fair to her husband to die giving birth to the child? Would it be fair to her husband to die WITH the child?
A child naturally needs its mother, why else do mother's bodies produce the milk that is best for the nutrition and growth of the child? I don't understand why a woman would want to give her life for the life of her child, and abandon all the other people in live of whom they would love.
My sister-in-law and I had this conversation one night, and I asked her, Would it be Fair to JR to give your life for the life of the child?
She couldn't answer.

Yup. They were both married and both have talked with their husbands about every ramification of everything involved in this. It's just that they couldn't get past it ever. They both have other kids, are on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medicine and just can't function. One is in and out of the hospital and the other just stays in her house all the time.

*shrug* I guess its up to the individual's mind to be strong enough to handle the situation and know your making the right decision before you make it.

Talk about going off thread.
The fanatics that support PBA this would be a major victory if its allowed. It would not be the end. I firmly believe that they would next push for what one might call he Herodian standard for abortion .Any child under 2 years.

Im confused... your post makes no sense.
Nobody has voted for Yes.
They have voted Yes, ONLY IF THE MOTHER'S LIFE IS ENDANGERED!!!!

Which, I totally agree with.
I can't understand how someone could believe that a woman should sacrifice her life just for the sake of not aborting a baby. In most cases, this would cause the baby to die too. Making her Sacrifice without a purpose, and even if the baby should manage to live, it would leave the child without a mother.

I can't understand how fanatics that say things like "No, never" could possibly think that women should sacrifice themselves for no purpose.

3rd option. The mother had plenty of time to choose whether or not she is going to have a child. At this point the brain has well since been totally formed as is the body. Unless there is a serious problem with the mother or child him/herself there is no reason for an abortion to take place at this time.

This post has nothing to do with the content of the post I made of which you replied...... If your going to reply to a post of mine, make sure it is discussing the issues I brought up in the post you replied to.

This post is nothing more than to try to get me to get angry for you making dumb ass comments.

Your only making yourself look like the moron you are.

I really don't think they exist. I can't imagine anyone who would want to do it for the sake of just doing it. But then again, there's probably someone out there who would, but I don't know if that person frequents this particular website.
