PROVERBS 11: 24-25 The world of the generous gets larger and larger.... The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped. - Our first instinct is to take care of ourselves, but this scripture tells us otherwise. It's kind of like the golden rule which tells us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. We should follow this scripture so we get all its benefits. If we don't we get nothing. Is that not the famous "Golden Rule" - invented by Greek philosophers?

No. It was in the Bible long before Greek philosophers were born.

Actually, the Golden Rule's origins (or the basis of it) can be traced back to the Middle Kingdom of Ancient Egypt. It's not unique or exclusive to Christianity or the bible.
