I'm a Democrat. And a longtime critic of Trump and the Republicans. But I do support making Canada our 51st state (or breaking it up into multiple states). However, I also don't think this should be without the consent of the Canadian people or with some ridiculous trade war. Canada would be better off if it joined the U.S. for both economic and security reasons.
