I said big pharmaceutical asks for subsidies, hence the word big meaning a lot of money, and you said they ask but don't receive... so I posted you an article.
If you want me to find articles of corruption through lobbyists I will, however this article seriously proved you were wrong.
Politicians live it up and have the lobbyists pay - CNN.com
Who do the unions represent?
they represent the people of their union.
unions are special interest groups who seek from congress things which benefit them and not what is good for the people, the states or the union itself.
the founders warn us against democratic forms of government and their factious combinations
"The other point of difference is, the greater number of citizens and extent of territory which may be brought within the compass of republican than of democratic government; and it is this circumstance principally which renders factious combinations less to be dreaded in the former than in the latter"
by repealing the 17th we cripple lobbying in Washington d.c.
The point I am successfully making is that wealthy business owners use their money to pay government officials to use aspects of fiscal policy to protect big business from falling, thus through the corruption the market process becomes inefficient and competition ceases to exist. To clarify I said anyone can ask, there is nothing wrong with asking nor is there a law against asking. But that does not mean everyone gets what they ask for. If your saying pharm asks for subsidies and they are approved by congress, then I suspect what they are asking for is beneficial for the government to issue such subsidies. I mean this goes on all day long. Example government will give an accelerated depreciation rate on equipment etc. for a period of time thus that accelerated depreciation rate encourages purchasing of new equipment. This is a subsidy to business.
I still have no idea what point you are trying to make.
does a union of plumbers represent the people of the u.s. ...noInteresting, first you say unions represent the people of their union, then you say the union seeks benefits for them and not the people they represent.
luck with repealing the 17th it's been around a long long time. And there is no such push to repeal it.
Sheldon Adelson and the Koch Brothers as well.
That said, I think they have too much power and something should be done about it.
what the whine about the wealthy fail to understand is that the rich are not a monolithic force. For every free market "rich despite the government" type there is a "rich because of the government nanny-stater who cancels him out. People like the Kochs cancel out scum like Soros. its pretty much a wash
But they're aren't being hypocrites like Soros who pretends to be for the little man, all while raking in $billions.
'Course they do. They didn't buy the power, though- they didn't even take it. It was given to them on a platter by poor idiots who equate wealth with worth. "He's worth $3billion!" they say and when the billionaire tells them that global warming is a myth they leap in their thousands and chant, "Myth! Myth! Myth!". Another billionaire tells them that government health care is unworkable and will ruin the country and the poor idiots denounce the best improvement in their lives since the Model T. A billionaire tells them that unions are wrong and that moving factories to Mexico is right and that minimum wages will destroy the economy and, well, by God if he's so rich he must be smart! Right?
That's power, when you can make people believe that right is wrong and bad is good.
What exactly makes Soros a hypocrite? Because he's a rich person with liberal views?
Except Soros is a total hypocrite for living against his ideology.
What exactly makes Soros a hypocrite? Because he's a rich person with liberal views?
he is no different than family values bible thumpers who are getting hand jobs in airport toilets. He's a rich fat cat who pretends to whine about the rich.
One of the biggest failures of Bush was not having Soros "taken care of"
That's right, it's hypocritical to take up an ideology that rails against the rich while accumulating $billions. It sure as **** is hypocriical.
I was unaware that people concerned with the disproprtionate influence of the wealthy were required to live as paupers.
The point I am successfully making is that wealthy business owners use their money to pay government officials to use aspects of fiscal policy to protect big business from falling, thus through the corruption the market process becomes inefficient and competition ceases to exist.
Yes, Auto manufacturing should of fallen. You mean like bailing out GM?
Yes, Auto manufacturing should of fallen.
When that happened during the sub prime crisis people should have realized how bad central banking really is, and how bad it sounds we should have seen it as the market effect to the inefficiency of central banking
Which means the future banking crash will be much worse, and well end up turning over more of our rights to a corrupt elite
But they're aren't being hypocrites like Soros who pretends to be for the little man, all while raking in $billions.
Soros
I think it's more of him being accused of collaborating with Nazis in Hungary but then turning around and becoming a Nazi hunter. What exactly makes Soros a hypocrite? Because he's a rich person with liberal views?
We don't have a free market now, if we ever did.fantastic job its done of that then huh
