Disney employees begin relocating from California to Florida: 'Business-friendly climate'
Some of the 2,000 Walt Disney Company employees moving from California to Florida are already eyeing up the housing market in Orlando.www.foxbusiness.com
Disney is planning on moving 2,000 well paying jobs (IIRC) mostly part of their Theme Park Headquarters division to Florida. Some employees have already been purchasing homes.
Should Disney announce that:
- Florida appears less than friendly to Disney, therefore they are suspending plans to move the headquarters (along with all the good paying jobs they represent) pending further action by the legislature to either repeal the anti-Disney bill or reauthorize the Reedy Creek Independent Special District so that it is not dissolved in 14 months.
- If the legislature acts to correct it's bill, well and good, plans can be reimplemented when the repeal or reauthorization occurs.
- For those employees that have purchased homes with intent to move, because Disney is suspending moving the headquarters they will purchase the home from the employee making them whole and take ownership. (Disney can then sell the house.)
That was last summer. Wanna bet some plans are changing?Disney employees begin relocating from California to Florida: 'Business-friendly climate'

So much for "good paying jobs."
Who are you kidding about good paying jobs? The gop kills the fifteen an hour minimum wage proposition every time it's brought up. That bill is far from settled and as it stands doesn't even take effect until next year. That's their business. I don't think it would matter one whit to most current residents of Florida.
Meanwhile, according to this article:
"Disneyland employees earn $30,000 annually on average, or $14 per hour, which is 75% lower than the national salary average of $66,000 per year. According to our data, the highest paying job at Disneyland is a Director of Strategic Marketing at $200,000 annually while the lowest paying job at Disneyland is a Musician at $10,000 annually."

Not likely to happen. Bill has passed, Disney will simply have to adapt.
Sounds like a good deal for Disney regardless. Meanwhile, the employees get to keep their jobs and don't have to move after all. They can stay in their socialist paradises.
It remains correct for those companies who prefer to exercise bigotryBusiness-friendly, a fine propaganda phrase.
My point isn't about companies exercising bigotry though, what I mean is, instead of saying things like 'anti-worker', and 'anti-environment' and 'anti-democracy', it's 'business friendly' which means those things. I wasn't referring to the Disney attacks. It remains correct for those companies who prefer to exercise bigotry
