Damn them. Damn all those congressmen there. Such scandalous behaviour and no one to keep check on them. They are an embarressment to the people. As an Irishman, looking at the U.S.A, I now know that the government was in no way responsible for America becoming a superpower.

Don't get me wrong - there have been some great men/Presidents who did some awesome things:

John F. Kennedy standing up to the missiles in Cuba: America will stand by any ally, make any sacrifice, in the name of Freedom/Democracy! Hu-ah, baby!

Ronald Reagan: Victory in the Cold War and a kick-@$$ economy.

but even the greats have their problems/issues.

Today's politicians are not helping this country out at all. On the contrary, they are selling it off in big chunks, getting whatever they can for themselves and their party, and betraying us and our trust right and left.

Whether it is the Bush administration ignoring the Southwestern invasion of the U.S. by corrupt mexican officals, drug dealers, and OTNs (Other Than Mexicans, to include terrorists) or guys/gals like Pelosi and reid gettin' theirs in lobbyist-funded deals and land scams while calling their counterparts criminals, they are all contributing to the downfall of this country! All of 'em!

Remember that old phrase that goes something like this: "Goverment of the people, by the people, FOR the people"? Now it goes "A Goverment ABOVE the people, forced on the people". The politicians are no longer serving the people - in the minds of our politicians, the people are here to serve THEM! :doh

For example, the dems used the GOP's own self-governing rule of stepping down if only indicted to take down DeLay and Gingrich.

Yep let's not forget how the Dems went after Gingrich with all the bogus ethics charges.
