I'm not the author of the below which is being circulated by emails among those opposed to the ridiculous immigration situation in our USA. But I have live most of my life in California and the below is all too obvious and sad.
...David

--------------------------
From the L.A Times:

1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County ( L.A. County has 10 million
people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because
they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green
card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal
aliens.

4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien
Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are
Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in
garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most
likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A. County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million
speak Spanish (10.2 million people in L.A. County).

(All the above from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on
welfare.

Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth (and over
90% of California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration.

The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was,
(after subtracting taxes immigrants pay), a NET $70 BILLION a year,
[Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University]. The lifetime fiscal impact
(taxes paid minus services used) for the average adult Mexican
immigrant is a NEGATIVE number.

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

If they can come to this country to raise Hell and demonstration by the
thousands, Why can't they take charge over the corruption in their own
country?

We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue.

THE U.S. VS MEXICO: On February 15, 1998, the U.S. and Mexican soccer
teams met at the Los Angeles Coliseum. The crowd was overwhelmingly
pro-Mexican even though most lived in this country. They booed during
the National Anthem and U.S. flags were held upside down. As the match
progressed, supporters of the U.S. team were insulted, pelted with
projectiles, punched and spat upon. Beer and trash were thrown at the
U.S. players before and after the match. The coach of the U.S. team,
Steve Sampson said, "This was the most painful experience I have ever
had in this profession."

Did you know that immigrants from Mexico and other non-European
countries can come to this country and get preferences in jobs,
education, and government contracts? It's called affirmative action or
racial privilege. The Emperor of Japan or the President of Mexico could
migrate here and immediately be eligible for special rights unavailable
for Americans of European descent.

Recently, a vote was taken in the U.S. Congress to end this practice.
It was defeated. Every single Democratic senator except Ernest
Hollings voted to maintain special privileges for Hispanic, Asian and
African immigrants. They were joined by thirteen Republicans. Bill
Clinton and Al Gore have repeatedly stated that they believe that
massive immigration from countries like Mexico is good. They have also
backed special privileges for these immigrants.

Corporate America has signed on to the idea that minorities and third
world immigrants should get special, privileged status. Some examples
are Exxon, Texaco, Merrill Lynch, Boeing, Paine Weber, Starbucks and
many more.

DID YOU KNOW?: That Mexico regularly intercedes on the side of the
defense in criminal cases involving Mexican nationals? Did you know
that Mexico has NEVER extradited a Mexican national accused of murder
in the U.S. in spite of agreements to do so? According to the L.A.
Times, Orange County, California is home to
275 gangs with 17,000 members; 98% of which are Mexican and Asian.
How's your county doing?

According to a New York Times article dated May 19, 1994, 20 years
after the great influx of legal immigrants from Southeast Asia, 30% are
still on welfare compared to 8% of households nationwide. A Wall
Street Journal editorial dated December 5, 1994 quotes law enforcement
officials as stating that Asian mobsters are the "greatest criminal
challenge the country faces." Not bad for a group that is still under
5% of the population.

Is education important to you? Here are the words of a teacher who
spent over 20 years in the Los Angeles School system. "Imagine teachers
in classes containing 30-40 students of widely varying attention spans
and motivation, many of whom aren't fluent in English. Educators seek
learning materials likely to reach the majority of students and that
means fewer words and math problems and more pictures and multicultural
references."

WHEN I WAS YOUNG: I remember hearing about the immigrants that came
through Ellis Island. They wanted to learn English. They wanted to
breathe free. They wanted to become Americans. Now, far too many
immigrants come here with demands. They demand to be taught in their
own language. They demand special privileges--affirmative action.
They demand ethnic studies that glorify their culture.

Reality

"Reality"
The pendulum is swinging from republican right wing nut jobs to democrat left wing nut jobs.
Hell, we may as well let Chavez run for president.

1) can you prove what's written above? (link to a website) It looks too incredible to me...

2)
Over 70% of the United States' annual population growth (and over

Wrong: 100% of the US annual population growth, from California to Kansas or Illinois, result from immigration since 100% of the people in the US are immigrants from Europe, Africa or Asia.

3)

It's normal: since they are not WASPs, they cannot evolute in the social life (they live in ghettos, so they don't go to school, so they don't get jobs, so they stay poor and stay in the ghettos, their kids won't go to school, won't get good jobs, will stay poor...) so they choose for gangs since there's nothing else to do. If they mixed up with WASPs and had the opportunity to get wealthier, they wouln't live in ghettos and there would be no gang anymore.

Oh great! Another imbecile pro illegal. These numbers are appalling and no
doubt reasonably accurate. Are you actually trying to make some kind of rational statement here?

80% of Americans are against illegal aliens. We don't want anymore and we want the ones here deported.

Don't come back with the usual 'you're a racist' crap. We've been invaded by a latino illegal invasion horde. Americans are starting to fight back. The gloves are coming off. Deport youself now and save yourself a lot of grief.

Bub questioned what are obviously false statistics -- 98% of the gang members in Orange County are Latino and Asian, my aunt Fanny -- and you consider him an imbecile and the numbers "no doubt reasonably accurate?"
Do you know what "gullible" means? How about "credulity?"
Find a credible source that verifies ANY of those statistics, and you may have something approaching a point. For once.

Can you prove that stat? Can you prove that this is what most Americans want? Or are you using the royal "we?"

You're not coming off as a racist here; just someone who posts opinions as facts, and assumes quite a lot of things -- often wrongly.

Well Coffee you just recently made comments about Maywood without knowing any demographics about Maywood.

The figure of 98% of the gangs in Orange county being made up of Mexicans and Asians came from the L.A.Times.

Here are some polls that show how much aliens are wanted in this country.

Sixty-seven percent of Americans approve of the U.S. government deporting illegal immigrants to the country they came from.
Opinion Research Corporation/Lou Dobbs poll, June 8-11, 2006

Seventy-seven percent of Americans think the United States is not doing enough to keep illegal immigrants from coming into this country.
ABC News/Washington Post Poll, May 11-15,

One hundred percent of Americans believe it is important that the government take steps this year to control U.S. borders to halt the flow of illegal aliens.
The Gallup Poll, April 7-9, 2006

Eighty-two percent say that the United States is not doing enough to keep illegals from entering this country.
Time Magazine/SRBI Survey, March 29

Eighty-one percent of Americans believe that illegal immigration to the United States is "out of control."
The Gallup Poll, April 7-9, 2006

Almost all Americans (eighty-seven percent) say they are concerned illegals will overburden government services, including 61 percent that are "very" concerned and another 26 percent that are "somewhat" concerned.
Opinion Dynamics Poll for FOX News, April 4-5, 2006

Almost all Americans (ninety percent) say illegal immigration is a "very" serious (sixty percent) or "somewhat" serious (thirty percent) problem for the country today — essentially unchanged from a year ago this time.
Opinion Dynamics Poll for FOX News, April

I just asked you some sources, needless ton insult me.

(thx, Coffesaint!)

Another imbecile pro illegal

And it's not because I'm asking you to prove your "facts" that I want the whole South America to come and live in Orange County

(BTW, did you know that till 1850, California was Mexican? Historicaly, the "whites" came there recently, so it's normal if there are hispanic people there. Just look at the names of Los Angeles, Santa Barbara or San Diego! It's not English!)

Don't come back with the usual 'you're a racist'

(from wiktionary)

Racist:
Noun

racist (racists)

1. an advocate of racism

Racism:
Noun

racism

1. The belief that members of one race are superior to members of other races
2. The belief that members of one ethnic group are superior to members of another ethnic group.
3. The belief that capability or behavior can be racially defined. (gangs)
4. Aggression or discriminatory behavior towards members of a certain race or races.
5. Aggression or discriminatory behavior based upon differences in ethnicity.
6. Ethnically or culturally discriminatory behavior exhibited by members of the racial, ethnic, or cultural group dominant within a society.
[...]
8. The perpetuation of racial, ethnic, or cultural dominance of some groups over others.
9. Opportunity inequality resulting from preferential treatment towards others of a similar cultural background.
10. The act of using political, judicial, civil, and educational systems to oppress one based on their ethnicity.

I'm not sure for the 2 first points, but you obviously fit with points 3,4,5,6,8,9 and 10.

Beyond this there is debate as to whether the word racism can only be applied to conscious belief or behavior, if it can extend to people who believe themselves free of racism but in practice unknowingly discriminate or denigrate people of a different ethnic group, if it can extend to people who do not act to prevent instances of racial aggression or discrimination, if it can extend to people who knowingly or unknowingly perpetuate a social structure of racial dominance, or if it can extend to people who treat people similar to themselves preferentially, resulting in a discriminatory effect with ethnic correlations.

And now?

Then the LA Times is full of crap, too. The largest gangs in the LA area are the Crips and the Bloods -- both predominantly African-American. Orange Country borders LA, and is part of the same urban sprawl. Do I really need to go look up numbers of Crips and Bloods in OC?

All of these are nice, but polls are not proof -- you know that, right? You know that polls can be skewed depending on the way the samples are chosen, the questions that are asked, the demeanor of the pollster, and by the current circumstances at the time the poll is conducted?

I don't doubt that most Americans are against illegal immigration. I do doubt that most Americans separate their fears about terrorism from their concerns about illegal immigration -- in other words, many of those who agreed with the poll questions, I bet, were concerned about terrorists sneaking over our borders with pocket nukes, not about Mexicans taking our jobs.

But I will grant you that you answered my objection to that part of your post. 80% of Americans -- or so -- are against illegal immigration. But I continue to object to the idea that you speak for them; I don't think most Americans share the same concerns about illegal immigrants that you do, nor do most of us believe your proposed solutions are viable.

At any rate, if all you can do is present more questionable statistics -- that don't answer Bub's questions or my objections to your reply to him -- I'm afraid I have little choice but to laugh at you. Prove the numbers in that OP, answer all of Bub's points, and I will take you seriously. Not that you care how I feel about you, of course, but at this point, your argument is a joke.

Don't throw the baby out with the bath water! Let's just agree that "close" to 100% feel that way?

I am really dying to know why you don't think that it is important for the government to take steps to control immigration!

What is your real agenda in all this?

All of these are nice, but polls are not proof -- you know that, right? You know that polls can be skewed depending on the way the samples are chosen, the questions that are asked, the demeanor of the pollster, and by the current circumstances at the time the poll is conducted?

As you so eloquently put it where is your proof?

But I will grant you that you answered my objection to that part of your post. 80% of Americans -- or so -- are against illegal immigration. But I continue to object to the idea that you speak for them; I don't think most Americans share the same concerns about illegal immigrants that you do, nor do most of us believe your proposed solutions are viable.

The polls in my previous post would indicate that a majority of Americans agree with most of what I say.

At any rate, if all you can do is present more questionable statistics -- that don't answer Bub's questions or my objections to your reply to him -- I'm afraid I have little choice but to laugh at you. Again, those OP numbers are not my numbers. We'll let 70's Guy do that.

Fair and unbiased, that ain't. But I see where you got your stats; refresh my memory: did you say 55% of Maywood's population was foreign-born, or 55% were illegal? Because the article says foreign-born, so if that's what you said, then I owe you an apology.

What is your real agenda in all this?
Sure; close to 100% feel this way, allowing for a margin of error in the poll.
Why don't I feel that it's important for the government to control immigration? Because I think the war in Iraq is more expensive and more damaging than immigration will ever be. Because if Americans don't get some kind of health care reform/universal health care, then people will soon be dying because they can't afford medicine. Because our national deficit is approaching a crisis point. And all of these things are more important than immigration.
And because I just don't care if people speak Spanish or English, or have dark skin or light, or eat tacos or burgers. If California became Mexifornia, and was immeidately followed by Mexizona, Mexas, Mexerado, Mexevada and NewMex MexicoMex, it wouldn't bother me in the least.

Ah, but which parts? Just because they agree, for instance, that the government should do something about immigration doesn't mean that they like the fence idea. Maybe they're all on my side.

Rogue said:

What do you want me to prove? That most illegal immigrants come here for money? That the problems I just mentioned are serious? That deportation of illegal immigrants would be expensive and difficult to the point of absurdity?

I have not put forward a definitive plan on how to deal with immigration because I don't have one. I have been questioning your plan because I don't think it will work; if you want to convince me, then prove you are right. If you don't care what I think, put me on Ignore or tell me to leave you alone. But as the one with a suggestion, the burden of proof is on you.

OK, I agree the article says foreign-born which I possibly wrongly interpreted as meaning illegal.

Here is a better link.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maywood,_California

According to the March 29, 2006 CBS Evening News, more than 50% of the city's population are illegal aliens, and Mayor Thomas Martin has declared that the city will refuse to cooperate with any enforcement of U.S. immigration law, making the city a haven for illegals. A local church leader has agreed to work with him in this endeavor. This sparked controversy after days of protests in late March on immigration bill H.R. 4437.

Well, is it just not important to control immigration at all or are the things you mentioned things that are more important than controlling immigration?

I agree that the national deficit HAS approached a crisis point and could be the most important thing you have mentioned.

Although the war in Iraq is much more expensive than the costs of immigration, I certainly don't see how it is more damaging than immigration. Iraq is happening in the Middle East but illegal immigration is happening within our borders.

Health care reform is certainly important but is far less important than the effects of illegal immigration.

So it's OK for these states to turn into 3 world areas? You've just come off as a nut case. I recommend that you try to redeem yourself, if you can.

Snopes has it..link

verdict : Origins: The various figures quoted above were not taken from a 2002 Los Angeles Times article. They appear to have been gleaned from a variety of sources and vary in accuracy as noted below

example of below :

Over 2/3's of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

When translated to reality it means

The California Vital Records Department of the Department of Health Services classified as "Hispanic" the race/ethnicity of 62.7% of all births occurring in Los Angeles county in 2001. The statistic quoted above therefore erroneously characterizes all parents of Hispanic heritage in Los Angeles County in 2001 as being "illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal."

It's easy to manipulate numbers to support ones opinion. Normally if it's email related, you shouldn't take it for face value.

i agree that the war in iraque is very important. but i am for the American who today is without health care. go to my forum to read how a national free health care would work.

Illegals entering America should have stopped before it grew into 12 mil. but our lawmakers are to busy counting the money they earn today. When at one time in America it was an honor to become a lawmaker for free!!!

After all most lawmakers are very rich before they decide to enter politics.

Today becoming a politician is a complete racket. After one becomes a mayor of a city, they are controled to become one of the gang. or they will never go high into the political arena.

I am for the illegal alian to go back home and come into the front door that America OPENS 2 ALL.

Yep. Rather than two cents teacher Warden, how about a bucks worth. LOL.

Listen, (explicative deleted), this is yet another loophole you (explicative deleted) have left open.

I sit here next to my pison mr tony, at his PC, on his account, with his, and the Popes blessing, and you know what, it's within the rules, there's not a damn thing you can do about it, except, change the rules. Again. Because of me.

Listen, leave my friend mr tony alone.

I have a gazillion ways to do bidness, as you (explicative deleted) know, mr tony is not teacher.

Any action against him and it will get ugly.

Just is.

Deal with it.

How long I been a member at DP?

What mr tony said I've only seen written here once before.

By me.

He's saying that to become a congressman or a senator is an honor, a public service. A sacrifice.

Not a multimillion dollar carreer.

Seems I choose my friends wisely.

mr tony in short time has become my best friend.

He's 75. I'm 43.

How quickley did he get to the meat of what is wrong with today's government?

While the rest of you still struggle with...

"Bush lied".
"Nuh-uh".
"Did too".

Isn't that right mr tony?

i was surprised to hear about the results with free health care in two other countries. On AM radio media states that the wait for a human hip operation in Canada is 3 years when a hip for a dog is done right away....

i am sure that it is true because the commentator is much more experienced in what he circulates than i. Now that a national free health care tax on all commodities is what i claim should be the way to go. Congress will need to get with the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) group and creat tough fines and tough laws that would abuse the Commodity Sales Tax for free health Care. This way there would not be any wait for a hip replacement here in America.

There is a lot of abuse in medicare today. I see the ripoff with a company called PAXAIR This company sends out sales people who trick we people who have a hard time breathing. they tell you that your insurance will pay the bill. The machine is useless. I got one. I mailed it back and the company still wants its money.

Doctors go along with this kind of scam and medicare is blind. FEMA in New Orleans ran into the same problem with rip off artist. No matter what good plan honest people and honest politicians want to make happen the rip off artist is right there to go around that law. Only a few get cought.

.
If California became Mexifornia, and was immeidately followed by Mexizona, Mexas, Mexerado, Mexevada and NewMex MexicoMex, it wouldn't bother me in the leas
t.

So your main concern is healthcare and national deficit yet you are ok with millions of illegals draining our system thereby lowering healthcare opportunities for all?

Hello Mr. David thank you for this wonderful information on such a very important issue. You certainly did your home work to share with me. i congratulate you with the well written synopsis.

i did not know diddaly squat about becomeing an advocate. But i did and saw the ADA happen because i got involved. i also don't know how old u r David but you are standing for the rights of your freedom and As i wind down my life to leave this wonderful world to enter paradise. It is your turn to carry the torch my good man.

America needs the young full blood American to fight with words to the congress before the congress if FILLED WITH FOREIGN BORN AMERICAN LAWMAKERS THAT WILL PLACE OUR CONSTITUTION IN DANGER.

i agree that i do not want to see illegal entry continue. And what the congress is trying to do will; slow down the entrance into the back door i am sure. But what America needs to do is place a three to five year MORATORIUM on immigrant entering into America unti the 11 MILLION ILLEGALS ARE FOUND AND REMOVED by the busloads back to the countries where they came from.

"We are a bunch of fools for letting this continue" This is true David. But tell me how you can stop 400 years of political corruption inside both houses of congress and every form of state government power in our 50 states. You can't.

WHAT TO DO: Start inside the political process and record the LIFE of each person that is going into LAW PERIOD. With electronics today it is easy to do. the future lawmaker needs to be sqeeky clean or the candidate for political growths can not move up the ladder to become a congressman etc.

Ammend the constitution for term limits up to two terms only for both houses and all 50 state governments voting power positions

#6,7 Los Angeles does have major problems as you sent to me. I say RAID THE GARAGES AND BUS THEM OUT OF THE COUNTRY OVERNIGHT. Immigration authorities claim they can't find the illegal immigrant and the L.A. TIMES FOUND 300,000 WOW!!!!
-------------------
#1 is the fault of our manufacturers that want to save the price of labor. That person should by law should be deducting taxes from the payroll system that corporation law set up to collect the tax That owner should be arrested when caught . Not for hiring illegals. But for TAX EVASION and the IRS should do its job to collect the payroll tax owed.

#4 God delivers the ilegal birth on American soil A nationwide Free Health care tax would take care of the child birth because all illegals eat sleep cloth and bed. they then will pay the commodity tax the same as everyone else. Here in Hillsborough County Florida i advocated for a half cent tax for free clinics after opening a free clinic and today OVER 9 MILLION DOLLARS PAY FOR THE INDIGENT

Read this letter from a fine Senator who was born in Cuba.
All of the Florida senators including Senator Martinez. have my free health care commodity sales tax idea also. i sent it to him before getting this response.

Dear Mr. Gargiulo Sr.:

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding the uninsured population. I appreciate hearing from you and would like to take this opportunity to respond.

There are an estimated 45 million Americans without health insurance - a number that has been consistently rising since 1989. This means that one in seven Americans, and one in five under the age of 65 in Florida, is uninsured. The fact that 15 percent of Americans live without health insurance is a staggering state of affairs, especially since we live in a country that leads the world in advanced medical procedures and technology.

Several pieces of legislation have been introduced during the 110th Congress that would put the burden of the uninsured population on the federal government through the expansion of the Medicare program. I do not believe that the solution to this problem can be found by expanding an already overextended government program.

Instead we need to open the health insurance market up to consumers to increase competition. The federal tax code currently offers several health care tax breaks to employers for employee fringe benefits. This places individuals whose employers do not offer health insurance at a severe disadvantage when purchasing health insurance.

On January 25, 2007, I sponsored the Tax Equality and Affordability Act (S. 397) which would level the playing field for all Americans to use tax-free dollars to purchase health insurance. This legislation would create a parallel system of direct tax-relief to individuals not receiving health insurance through their employer, Medicare, Medicaid, VA, or Indian health benefits. It would also give taxpayers a new tax credit for health insurance equal to the deduction enjoyed by workers whose employers provide health insurance.

In addition, it would cap the current employer exclusion at a reasonable level, as recommended by the President’s Bipartisan Advisory Panel on Federal Tax Reform. Under current law, low-income Americans receive only $102 in tax relief for health insurance while wealthy Americans get an average tax break of $2,780. The value of the tax exclusion has tripled since 1986 to $126 billion today. By capping this exclusion, we will be able to target tax subsidies to those who need it most.

The United States has some of the best health care facilities and medical professionals in the world. By giving uninsured individuals and families access to health insurance, we can ensure that all Americans will have access to quality medical care.
