I don't subscribe to the NY Times so it would be really helpful if those referring to information in it would post the relevant information. But from what I have been able to figure out on this, President Trump was referring to Schiff illegally leaking classified information. And it was in reference to that when he made the "He must be stopped" tweet.

I haven't seen that it had anything at all to do with the Democratic version opposing the Nunes memo.

Hard to argue with that.

Okay, I finally tracked down Trump's tweet. He also said that the leaking was "illegal." I'm not a lawyer, but aren't we suppose to try to stop people from doing illegal things?

Or was Trump wrong and leaking classified information is not illegal?
 

Thanks for putting that into context. The OP sounded as if trying to stop Schiff was a dangerous thing -- but if he did something illegal, he probably should be stopped from doing it again.

No, it wasn't. The context was in relationship to Schiff's alleged (by Trump and many others) lying and leaking. Lying and leaking needs to be stopped. Schiff needs to be stopped from further lying and leaking.

Is there any real "evidence" that this guy actually "leaked" anything? Let's face it, Trump accuses 100's of people a week, and 99% of it is totally unfounded.

Secondly, what was leaked? Was it classified material? And hw does it stack up against all the leaking the Republicans have done.

Righties are acting like he's a Chinese agent...

...while Trump pays footsie with Pution....AND LEAKED secret Israeli intelligence to Russia.

Who needs to be "stopped?"
 
OK, I'll whataboutism...
I don't know of any hard evidence on Schiff of leaking, except there's a direct line that can be drawn from Schiff going to the little boys' room during Don Jr.'s testimony and leaking of "public" vs. "non public" information in real time.
The rest of the hyperbolic hand flapping is just...eh...I'm too over this lather, rinse, repeat to finish my response.

He was talking about the subject of the thread, which you yourself did on the first page (albeit stupidly and dishonestly). "Whataboutism" does not apply to someone speaking about the subject at hand.

You thrice accused Schiff of "lying and leaking". He challenged you to make your case.
 

I wish I could have been more clear when I responded that Trump did not bring the Dem memo into the tweet and that the tweet had nothing to do with the memo, but alas...horse, water...

It Trump can prove that Schiff is leaking illegal info, then Schiff can easily be prosecuted, and the issue is solved. Since Schiff hasn't been indited yet, I somehow have a feeling that there is no evidence that Schiff has leaked anything. I dont know any more about this than what I have read in this thread, but just trying to use some basic logic.

So sorry I limited my responses to the scope of the topic matter. Next time, I'll do better to nibble on the bait like a good little fishy.
 

There is no smoking gun.
Same can be said for Trump/Russia collusion, Trump obstruction etc, etc.

I'm not trying to verify what Trump said. My point was to point out the obvious specious allegation made by the OP.

But how do you know? You work for the FBI? All I know is what I read in the papers. I dunno if there are any smoking guns at all. I assume that there must be a little smoke, else we wouldn't even be discussing any of this, and I assume that the smoke is what we have read in the papers, but that's just my assumption.
 

AFAIK, there is no smoking gun. Smoke does not equal incontrovertible evidence.
At this point, it's a circular firing squad:doh
