Does he have ANY TOES left? One of Biden's biggest campaign points is how bad Trump handled COVID and how his magnificence in the Oval have done better as he directed a "national effort" He even promised on day one he'd implement a nation-wide mask mandate. NOW, he says that would be unconstitutional and that "we'll have to trust the governors".

So if something as simple ad requiring masks - which most, if not all, of the states do now is unconstitutional, what, if anything, beyond what we're already doing will Joe be able to do that WOULD pass constitutional muster?

The weird thing about Joe’s stance is Donald Trump admitted that he lied to us about the virus.

Trump took a page from the book of his buddy Xi and deliberately lied to the country about the danger of the virus.

Read more carefully, he said a federal mandate would probably not be constitutional (because states have the public health powers). Don't you think it would be refreshing to have a president that admits to making a mistake instead of a president that lies about his mistakes?

I'm not sure what the point is here. Is Biden going to lose because he scaled back a previous comment on a mask mandate? I'm not sure it's going to move the needle at all.

If Biden once suggested a federal mask mandate, but an actual lawyer convinced him it would be ruled unconstitutional, causing him to change his stance on doing the thing that is supposedly unconstitutional . . .

. . . that's a bad thing to a Trumpist?

You people really don't think for even half a second before you spew, do you?

Trump admittedly lied, denied, and downplayed COVID, getting over 200,000 of your fellow Americans killed. You are busy whining about a politician being convinced that one of his ideas was unconstitutional and offering up a different but related constitutional idea.

Never thought I'd see days like these.

What? How do you come up with this ****? Isn't Biden a lawyer? Didn't serve for 49 years - seems like he'd have SOME understanding of how government works.

Probably for far long than you did before you disgorged this post.

And just like your hero, Uncle Joe, you vomit all the trite, cliched nonsense you've been fed. Now that your standard **** storm to deflect the conversation has occurred, you're dismissed.

Trump already KNEW the mandate was unconstitutional. He was told by any number of state governors back in March. Guess Joe was in his basement and didn't hear it.

I think it's very clear at this point that Trump supporters do not care one bit about the Constitution.

What's that bull**** lie got to do with Biden's stance?

Joe Biden didn’t purposely play down the pandemic and sentence 100’s of 1000’s to death.

When did Trump admit he lied? Dr. Fauci says Trump didn't say anything different from what was discussed in task force meetings.

We have the quotes from Woodward that we can/are comparing to his pressers and tweets. He told Woodward in early feb that it was a deadly contagion that affects much more than just seniors, and had a 5x death rate compared to the flu. These are not things he was telling the American people, in fact his very public record suggests quite a different picture.

You can play “Name the lie” to your heart’s content. 190k American families now know their loved ones were murdered by our own potus.

Neither did Trump; someone has lied to you.

Yup. Donald Trump, he admitted it on tape, from months ago. On tape. Verified sources. Trump deep throated himself.

Sure he did.

This year would have been hard on a competent president. Your huckster never stood a chance.

Yeah, yeah. Heard it all before. Tragic your undersanding does extend past "Orange man bad". But we're used to it.

Dude, he's incompetent. He's a miserable failure.

I would feel bad about you being forced to defend the pathetic oaf, but you demanded it.

But he didn't know that a citizenship question on the census was not possible? Right.

Not only that but having a President who believes in science and will tell the American people the truth about the virus will go further in promoting mask use than any mandate could. Biden will tell the American people that scientists have determined that mask use is our best defense against the spread of the virus and that all Americans need to join the cause. They will listen.
