Did Barr/Trump get Shep Smith ousted at Fox News?

Shep Smith quit Fox news abruptly, but was it his decision? The White House and especially Trump have been on Fox News about those who who work there who report the facts that do not put Trump in a good light. The day or so before Shep Smith "quit", Barr meets with Rupert Murdoch, the owner and true boss at Fox News for what reason we are not sure. Then Shep Smith "suddenly quits" with no notice. So did Shep Smith quit Fox News or did the Trump Administration has him ousted at Fox News for not following the Trump line and agree with the White House "facts" Is this a warning to others at Fox News to toe the line?

Yes, the Minister of Justice met with the Minister of Propaganda the other day, but I am willing to bet that the division between the one or two news people and the vast swath of entertainers (who act on Trump's behalf) at Fox News is what either forced him out, or caused him to quit - or both.
 

I think that Shepard Smith was fed up with Tucker Carlson, Laura Ingraham and Sean Hannity. Maybe he got a 'dressing down' by Murdoch because of Barr's visit with Murdoch and maybe he was told to stay in line with the commentators. But Shepard Smith isn't a commentator, he's a news man. Shep was there to bring the truth to news and Trump didn't want that, he wants only people that carry out the propaganda for him.

CNN: "In late September, 8 p.m. host Tucker Carlson mocked Smith for standing up for his friend and colleague Judge Andrew Napolitano after the judge was called a "fool" by one of Carlson's guests. The network's lack of a vocal defense for Smith following the incident bothered him and the whole episode factored into his decision to leave, according to a person familiar with the matter."

Shepard Smith commented in a Time magazine interview: "To stop doing it would be bad, "because I think that there is a need for it and I know the degree to which we care about it and focus on it and we want it to be as perfect as it can be. And I wonder, if I stopped delivering the facts, what would go in its place in this place that is most watched, most listened, most viewed, most trusted? I don't know."

I won't be watching Fox at all now, Shep Smith is the only person at Fox that I trusted to report news accurately and fairly.
 


I think Barr meeting with Murdoch - for whatever reason - was the "heart attack" for Sheppy's acute TDS ... :lol:
 

It probably had to do with Tucker Carlson. Tucker lit him up pretty good a few weeks ago.
 
nah, Tweety's personal AG just met with Murdoch because they're great buds and wanted to have lunch together. the timing of Smith's departure is just total coincidence even though now he can't even work because of a non-compete clause.
 

Do you think Shep is under a non-disclosure agreement? If not, shouldn't we be expecting to learn the whys at some point?

Yeah, I saw that exchange. It was really nothing, so if thats what caused Shep to quit then he is a bit of a puss.

Right, so the only show on FOX that you watched was the most left leaning show that gave you the opinions you wanted. :roll: There are an unlimited supply of left wing hosts on ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN ans MSNBC that you can turn to any hour of the day so you wont have to wait for Shep to come on at 3:00 to hear what you want to hear.
 

He was the ONLY one that refused to deal in conspiracy theories, or name calling his business associates. He offered the facts and if you can refute any fact as reported by Shepard Smith over the past 23 years, I would challenge you to name them.

Conspiracy theories??? YOu mean like the Collusion Hoax? Get serious. And you mean someone called him a name? Oh dear. Good thing he quit before he melted.

Smith will find a home at CNN...and he'll get paid more money to let talking potato heads bad-mouth Trump for him.

Reality is confirmation bias to these people.
 
Unsure Trump/Barr did this entirely on their own, but with all the shenanigans over at FoxNews it would not surprise me to see the request end up among others in removing Smith.
 

Maybe Trump and Barr did what Obama did. Tapped opponent reporters phones and raided their homes for information.

Actually he does havve an NDA and can not even work for another network for a period of time.

Actually if you listen to what he has said he has an NDA and can not work for another network for some period of time. Maybe you should get the real facts before you write stuff to help defend Trump.

If Shep has indiscreet friends, there are two sites that reliably post blind items and their IDs, and the facts will eventually emerge, at least some of them. I'll report back if I read a "Which recently departed news anchor...."
 
Shep did ask to be allowed to leave Fox. I hope that this means that he has opportunities awaiting him.

He said he has a post employment non-compete agreement, not a non disclosure agreement but it's possible there is both in his Fox contract. It seems out of character that he would have let himself be driven away by a shill like Carlson or by anyone for that matter. Shame he is gone, especially now when so much is at stake with the mind control platform at Fox.

Shep has done many a commentary. I don't know what you're going on about. The only reason you like him is that he has done anti-Trump coverage, not because of any alleged facts or excuse like that. Let's just be honest here.
