I am not for a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage but I would be for one banning burning or desecrating the flag.

Burning and desecrating are not the same thing.

When I see people on the left burning a flag it infuriates me....So many brave men have died protecting that object as some of our friends on the let have called it.......

I fly and american flag on a poll in my year..When it becomes frayed or torn I turn it over to my American Legion Post for destruction............Once a month they have a ceromony and destroy the flags in accordance with military regs............

Wearing a flag as part of a costume is desecrating it.

By wearing the flag as part of a costume you are depriving it of it's sacred character. The flag was not created so it could be part of a t-shirt. The flag was not created so it could be part of a bikini. The flag was not created so it could be part of a bandanna. The flag was not created so it could be part of a bandanna. Every time it is used to decorate anyone of these items it loses a bit of symbolism, a bit of meaning and this is as bad as burning the flag. If you fail to understand this then there really is nothing for us to debate is there? You see patriotism in the flag being used as an advertising tool. I don't. Shame.

These multitude of nit picking laws concerning the flag coincide nicely with the multitude of nitpicking laws concerning the abortion travesty, eg. rape of the mother, 2nd or 3rd trimester etc.
Bottom line is burning the flag is an act of unpatriotic proportions, and aborting the fetus is an act of unpatriotic murder, period!

So is using the flag to decorate towels, mugs, t-shirts. When our flag is used to decorate these every day items we're not showing it the respect it deserves. We're using it as a marketing tool. Why dont you get this yet?

It is amazing you will staunchly support the 2nd Amendment, without restrictions, but not the 1st, condemning those who do things well within those rights, kid. Your hypocracy is showing...once again.
