Looks like DeSantis didn't go over the fine print before he stupidly retaliated against Disney for speaking against the so called "don't say gay" bill. By law, Florida cannot end it's contract with Disney until it fulfills the terms of any agreements made with Disney.
According to the The Reedy Creek Improvement Act of 1967, the state law that created the district, Florida “will not in any way impair the rights or remedies of the holders … until all such bonds together with interest thereon, and all costs and expenses in connection with any act or proceeding by or on behalf of such holders, are fully met and discharged.
“If Reedy Creek is ever dissolved, it would be a monumental and complicated enterprise even on a years-long timeline,” he said.
“The district has a nine-figure annual budget for expenditures, and even ignoring its various debts, it has a plethora of other contracts that somehow would have to be assigned to and divided between Orange and Osceola counties. However, the dissolution will have to wait until all of its bonds are paid in full,” so, it appears DeSantis's retaliatory actions are outside the financial scope of Florida's pocketbook. Good job Governor!!

LOL, so all Disney has to do to beat DeSantis is not completely pay off any debts?

NICE. The Bank is happy, because they can collect a little more interest.

Disney is happy, because they just owned the crap out of DeSantis publicly.

I am happy because there will be millions of screaming po'buckers.

It's win-win all around.

But you see, that's not the point. The point is DeSantis just wants to keep throwing red meat to his base, to keep the oven hot in time to run for the presidency. He would love it if it took years- 2024, to be exact. That's years of "owning the libs". Can you imagine how much stuff it would give him to talk about on the campaign trail?

He also can't do it anyway, because the Don't Say Gay law was already passed and all Disney was responsible for was allowing their employees to pitch their grievances.
That word is extremely important because it is the First Amendment and Ron's actions amounted to a strict textbook VIOLATION of the 1A because governments are not allowed to hand out punishment for something people said.
He LITERALLY PUNISHED employees for giving voice to grievances.
DeSantis could carry this to the SCOTUS and even our current SCOTUS would be forced to hand his head to him.

Case ****ing closed.

First Amendment violation, open and shut case.

Yes.

It's amazing how the supposed party of free markets, business, and freedom has turned against all those things. It's a sure landmark of how different and radicalized today's Republican party has become. They are the party of poor, angry, rural uneducated people now. This is definitely not your father's Republican Party anymore.

Look at America's left wing cheer on a Mega Corporation selling plastic Chinese toys.

Next watch them cheer on nuking all of Russia. They're progressive, you know.

Trump proved it doesn't matter how many times they fall on their face. Their orcs march on.
Same with all the right wing conspiracy theories. You would think they would get tired of constantly stepping on that rake, but oh well.

The bill doesn't say, "don't say gay". Once again the left lies to create a story that isn't there.

No one ever claimed that it SAID "Don't Say Gay"...we nicknamed it that.
Here's a bonus, we also nicknamed the shit storm of anti-CRT nonsense "Don't Say Black".

Conservatives who've never heard of Frank Luntz. Smh. From the "death tax" people. Simply amazing
Not to mention "unplugging grandma" and the big big BIG one that made him a millionaire:

I guess you were so absorbed in complaint mode that you failed to notice I said "the so called don't say gay bill"... MAGAites just get so absorbed in their partisan grievance's they miss out on so many details. Must be exhausting.

Yes and what is even more amazing is the BIG Govt. approach the Trumpists are taking despite still calling themselves Conservatives. Govt. cannot be big enough for DeSantis he has his fingers in every pie. He wants a new election police force under his command too. It turns out they are no more Conservatives than Hitler was a socialist. Is anyone surprised?
