Disney should do what they do best. Entertain people. They decided to play politics and now will pay a price for that.
Probably going to cost them about 200 million in taxes! They are going to lose their special exemption.

BOOM

🚨BREAKING: Florida Senate, on a 23-16 vote, just passed legislation ENDING Disney’s tax privilege, self-governing power & special exemption status.

This will easily pass in the house! Disney just learned a big lesson!

The only difference is trump is a wannabe dictator because the more sane folks in america saved us in 2020 and booted him after one term.

I'm actually not much in favor of a company governing themselves, really. But I don't think ending that because DeSantis is throwing a hissy fit is right.

And Disney will respond by laying off Floridians and raising prices, and shifting production jobs to other states. Right? That is the right wing stance on how to handle tax hikes, right?

How will it hurt Florida?
Disney will likely raise prices and lay off workers, and move production jobs to other states with a more business-friendly regulatory environment.

He's a great governor.

Doncha think?
He's nothing more than clone trump. Trump was booted after one term for numerous reasons but his childish, spiteful, angry approach just didn't sit well after four years. Why DeSantis thinks the same behavior will get him into the white house is beyond my reasoning. Sure the trumpsters will vote for him but that's about it, he'll lose in an even bigger margin if he runs for president.

With Disney's $75.2 billion annual economic impact for Central Florida. 463,000 jobs. $5.8 billion in additional state tax revenue.
Would serve Desantis right if Disney just up and left Florida.

Why would Disney do any of that?
Why would they lay people off? Or raise prices? Are they just vindictive hateful leftists after all?
Same reason as Amazon not making a New York HQ? Megacorporations have the clout to shop around for special tax deals and their goal is to make as much money as possible, so they do that. The little guy doesn't have that ability, so they get stuck with an unfair playing field.

Weird to see you describing profit motive as "hateful."

They're being handed a bill for hundreds of millions of dollars. What, you think they're going to just suck that up out of the goodness of their hearts?

Glad to know that you think the proper role of government is to punish those who dont agree with what government policies are.

Thats not gonna bite ya in the ass one day, is it?

SO what you are saying is that Florida is using the government to punish political speech. Interesting that you seem to support that.
