As I've always suspected, there is a strong correlation between capitalist societies and the prevalence of mental health issues. It is not normal for a society to have an epidemic of severe anxiety, depression, and suicide. These issues are usually caused and/or massively exacerbated by environmental factors, and I'm not talking about the water.

Not a big surprise. Capitalism forces a lot of people into precarity

As someone who has struggled with employment the past couple years, I constantly worry about my ability to maintain housing and to pay my bills. I don't think that has been good for my mental health

Perhaps people will be happier in the neo-feudalism that underreugulated capitalism becomes.

Nah, they won't.

Get some popcorn .and a sedative .and get comfy. Its going to be a shit show ..oh joy .
I didn't need another four years of it. It's weirdly awful that anyone of my status and income level is enjoying this. It's like watching they guy next to you at the pump happily lighting a cigarette while filling up his five gallon lawn mower gas can. Then, tomorrow, the same.

I think the Shock Doctrine by Naomi Klein is good watching in these days.

God, at least feudalism had mutual obligations between the noble and servile classes, and nobles were expected to go to war for their sovereign and die in combat (and many did). Here there is none of that.

We get the revised version.

There are no economically developed countries in the world today which are pure capitalist systems. The closest we ever came was the laissez-faire era of the Gilded Age. We did not move beyond it because it was working so well.

We also had slavery 200 years ago, the precursor to modern day capitalism. And why are Nordic countries so much happier? Shouldn't more capitalism make people happier and more prosperous?
FYI every region of the earth had slavery. Are Nordics truly happier? Lots of suicides there.

The Gilded Age was glorious. The largest peacetime economic expansion in history, before the libs ruined it.
Count yourself lucky you were born American.

Deeply stupid

Political corruption was arguably worse than today. Poor working conditions and child labor

No

Both South Korea and the US have a higher suicide rate than any Nordic country. They are both very much capitalist

The Nordics are capitalist too.
So whatever they call themselves or you want to calll it, that's the model they are looking to, even the biggest self-proclaimed "socialists". You may just be getting hung up on words, and we are just talking past each other.
