Dems lose because of the constant drip of the hyper “woke”

He nailed it!

This is why I couldn't bring myself to vote Democrat even though I hate Trump and the Republicans.

Bill Maher basically says that it’s not actual policies or actual politicians that cause Dems problems. It’s the slow drip of things like defund the police, cancel culture, and various other things that drive away most Americans.

Not all of it is the product of Dems but yes, he IS correct.
I can't stand the whiny little shits on campus screeching for their safe spaces, I hate hearing how me playing blues is cultural appropriation and how I am not supposed to like it or perform it, I despise listening to people telling me I am "mansplaining" two syllables in...to ANYTHING.

But what I despise the most is the fact that Democrats can't be bothered to craft a solid message and lack the testicular fortitude to fight the red baiting Republicans.

Don't doubt Republicans were successful exploiting the defunding police message, which will admit was an unforced error.

Also, looting and destruction of property including statues mixed in with peaceful protests didn't help Democrats.

The cancel culture issue I'm not sure about. Think Bill has always railed against political correctness, so this part of his diatribe seems abit self serving. Agree with the idea we are too sensitive at times, that goes for both sides, but people who want to say whatever they like without backlash should understand the right to say things cuts both ways. Just don't see anything changing in this regard, regardless of cancel culture sentiments. Either you believe in free speech for all or you don't.

In this election, Democrats succeeded turning out enough voters on hatred/dislike for Trump to get Biden elected and Republicans turned out enough voters on hatred/dislike for Democrats to blunt the impact and get enough anti Trump voters to split their tickets in key races.

Democrats had enough unity to get Biden elected and I'm happy about it, but seems we need to figure out a few things going forward. Republicans seem to be able to expoit our differences.

Yeah, if we aren't totally crushing a party that is still afraid of Communism, socialism, and not being allowed to say merry Christmas, then we need to rebrand.

The divide should be cast as the party of old white victimhood versus everybody else.

Pretty sad when a Liberal asswipe like Bill Maher gets it, but actual Liberal politicians don't.

So true. Nancy Pelosi needs to resign. She needs to let someone younger be a face of the Democratic Party. At this point, she is as much a drag on the party as Hillary was in 2016. It’s always tough for the incumbent party to maintain seats in Congress in the mid-terms, but with her in power in the House it will lead to absolute disaster.

Also true. The reason that the Dems flipped the House two years ago and win the presidency this time can be summed up in one word: Trump. But he’s not doing to be there to kick around in two years. Unless the Dems can get their act together, first by replacing Pelosi with Hakeem Jeffries to show that the party is able to move on, it will be a bloodbath next time around.

Folks, Nancy Pelosi already made noises about possibly stepping down once the election happened.
And while she never set a specific timeframe, I would wager it's within the year or sooner.
She is getting pretty old, she accomplished as much as she could, and she probably wants a break.
Hakeem is as good as any but I'd still cast a wider net just so people can see what is available anyway.

I hope that you are correct but I fear that you are not.

Old white people still are running your party but you keep running off at the mouth about the GOP?

I disagree with Maher's politics and he's a first rate prick, but he definitely has the ability to recognize the Left's biggest problems.

The brightside is, most Leftists don't see wokeness, the communist agenda, etc. as a problem. Hopefully they never wake up.

The Democrats also lost 8 seats in the House and had to rig the election to get Biden in.

Probably shouldn't be acting like y'all scored some kind of victory.

Well he's partially correct but it is the positions they want to be policy like defunding police, cancel culture issues an those types of influences on their policies.

Maher is an absolute idiot, but I agree that people tend to react to the emotional and cultural aspects of politics more than the policy side. I think that the more rabid PC stuff is overrepresented online and in the media, but it also can hurt Democrats in several places around the country. This is why messaging is so important, and the eagerness for Democrats to fight the culture war as opposed to the policy war is a huge mistake.

No one rigged the election. You simply embarrass yourself with such clear falsehoods.

Yes they did and you know it and the Democrats still lost 8 seats in the House and Andrew Yang is encouraging people to commit voter fraud to win the Ga senate seat in January.

Woke liberals are like ankle biting poodles.

Nobody said the problem is old white people, so stop with the racial victimhood. Bernie is an old white guy and I don't hear many people complaining about him.

What are you afraid of occurring if the POTUS wasn't a white male or a non-white female like Kamala Harris? Is it that you are afraid of being treated, in the same way, that conservatives have treated anyone who wasnt an old white guy?

Woke liberals are like ankle-biting poodles.
Is treating everyone else as equals and admitting the problems of the past a problem for you? Maybe you should move to India where they have a caste system.

In a positive note, Maher runs the absolute best panel discussion on TV because he won’t let the right wingers get away with their obvious lies. He confronts them immediately and as harshly as is necessary. Quite different from FOX, which welcomes their lies, but also from the “respectable” Sunday morning programs in which the host feels that he must treat them with kid gloves in order to be “balanced” such that the lies of the Republicans are most often given equal credence to the realities expressed by the liberal/Democrats.

Like hell! "Old, white men" is all we ever hear...lol

I guess you must have just recently ended your Ostrich impersonation................... and pulled your head out of the hole?

I still watch Bil Maher from time to time. I used to like him a lot, because he often spoke to truth I acknowldeged.

On the other hand, he can also be hyper-partisan about his own beliefs, whether it be about religion or certain left-leaning politics.

He still get's it right from time to time and this time he's spot on about a major problem with the so-called "tolerant" Left.

Maher is a entertainer who will play anyone for ratings.

People are too stupid to realize this.

Point proven that you live in an alternate universe of FOX/Trump falsehoods and hyperbole. Not much else to say when you refuse to accept reality.
